Why not just remake the original trilogy, George? You clearly want to and you're going to piss us off anyways.
Small changes can ruin entire scenes. This, for example, pretty much entirely destroys the dramatic tension. Same thing happens when he adds a bunch of goofy CGI shit in the background. It also distracts you from the crap that's actually important on screen.DJ_DEnM said:OH SHIT HE ADDED ONE WHOLE WORD. GET TO THE BUNKER~!
Jokes aside, I don't see what the big deal is. It's his movie, he has the right to change it or not. If you have a problem with it go to Skywalker Ranch and hold him at gunpoint B|
The Emperor does not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation.Exterminas said:Cut that man some slack. He at least felt some sort of guilt for releasing the movies AGAIN, so that some part of him felt like doing some actual work...
Oh, and Empire was directed by Irvin Kershner. Died less than a year ago.Treblaine said:Yes, Return of the Jedi was directed by Richard Marquand who was a very talented director and probably would be more well known if not for ding in 1987 at the age of 49. And yet Lucas has the nerve the make directorial decisions on this great man's work in this creative career that was so horribly cut short.
Did you not watch that video?canadamus_prime said:There is no good reason for whining like a bunch of spoiled brat children.pandasaw said:There is probably a good reason for that.S-Unleashed said:Can you really blame him. All they tend to do it *****, and moan.XandNobody said:It is official, George is just out to troll the fans now, all there is to it.
There is no other explanation that I can really give.
Agreed. Now this sounds like some good editing.ewhac said:If I were re-cutting that scene (and, let's be honest, it doesn't really need it), as Vader looks on as Luke is microwaved, I would intercut snippets from the prequels -- half-remembered pieces from Anakin's past, little pieces, nudges from Palpatine that he'd never put together before. The flashback fragments would show Vader realizing: Palpatine had set him up from the start.
He would also remember losing Padme, who (he still believes) died at his hand. Now he is confronted with losing the son he barely knew (and the daughter he never will). And so, [em]silently[/em], he turns, grabs the Emperor, and throws him down the tower shaft.
