It isn't currently shown on British TV and no whole season of it has ever been broadcast here.
Uhm... Maybe not currently, but it's been shown and re-shown at least twice here. On Terrestrial.

Fair enough, we never got Leave it to Beaver or Fat Albert, but Macguyver we certainly got. Along with Sledgehammer.

I miss MacGuyver, I remember back in 4th grade, I'd come home from school, have the house all by myself, and I'd make french toast and watch MacGuyver. I can't remember the last time I've seen one of our Danish channels rerun it.

I wonder if he will make a Machine gun using nothing more than an elastic band and some paper clips?

I certainly hope so!
Actually, if I remember correctly, he absolutely loathes guns. To the point where he's often supporting causes banning them. MacGuyver that is. Not the actor.
That's true; he used bullets to get some gun powder for some other use once or twice, but I don't think he ever fired a weapon. He was really anti-gun indeed.
He also used a revolver, sans chamber, as an impromptu wrench, but yeah he's very anti-gun

If Richard Dean Anderson is in it sweet! If they replace him, meh, I couldn't be bothered with it.

That may become the dealbreaker for this movie: If the character doesn't like deadly force, how will you draw a crowd? I guess explosions aren't out of the question, so that's something I guess...

I for one hope that they keep the original actor away from the movie. It's a source of taint, both for him and for the movie, because cameos always invite terrible, unfunny gags.

I'm so glad my dad showed me the show.

Its a great show, and I really hope they get Anderson for the role.

Well I hope Hollywood wont desecrate this one, its my favourite TV show of the 80's and one of the favourites ever. But you got a point, and knowing how Hollywood is great butchering all classics I understand your statement.
I highly doubt Hollywood won't fuck this up. Watch, they'll try to make it more "relevant," and completely kill the spirit of the thing.

I really, really hope I'm proved wrong.

Hey, wait... Isn't there supposed to be a MacGyver movie coming out today?

Sarcasm aside, not really sure how this might turn out. If it is a successful slowburning thriller, maybe there is some hope. If it's a Michael Bay-esque explosionfest, I'm probably going to pass it by.

Richard Dean Anderson quit Stargate to spend more time with his family, so I don't think he'll go for a whole movie
Pretty much this. RDA quit to spend time with his family, and god knows he deserves it. As awesome as RDA in a new MacGyver would be, maybe just a cameo would be enough to do the name justice.

Shame Dana Elcar wouldn't be able to be in it... :(

Incidentally Mr. Westbrook, I disagree with your opinion that "the mullet can stay with the TV show". MacGyver and the mullet are one and the same. If there is no mullet, it's just some weirdo boy scout without a gun.
MacGyver didn't have the mullet in earlier seasons of the show so your theory is fallacious.

The mullet was character development.

Really? huh, my searching for it a while ago found that a few eps were shown on BBC that no-one watched, they gave up on it and few years ITV tried it and also failed at getting it well known..

Which channel stuck with it in the end then?
Also I found out that FX tried it recently but about half way through its run episodes of it started to get less than 50 viewers..
That's like half their normal amount/ /sly dig at FX
