The horror, the horror, ive been waiting 8 years for this.

*Sigh* Even though its a mainstream reviewing site, this still made me want to fall on the ground, ive already preordered it on steam and probably cant do anything about it. Or is there a way to cancel the deal i made?

EDIT: Incoming! Ma review of Mafia 2!

So far im about 5 missions in and right now its setting up the characters and story. The dialogue. The voice acting is great, and the city, so far, is very interesting. It is true that there seems to be no talking on the street, Fortunately that seems to be the only thing people arent doing. People reading newspapers, Shovoling snow [yes, the game starts in the winter and speaking of it...]

Whoever said the graphics arent that great for Mafia 2 was talking out of their ass. The game is BEAUTIFUL, for a sandbox game anyway. There is a lot of detail in the city, which really adds to the immersion.

Expect more in the days to come folks! And yes, you may want to arm your pitchforks against me, for being the winy dirtbag that i am! :D

Don't listen to IGN, go play the game for yourself.

Don't listen to that...I've been playing the demo several times a day for a week now, and it's stupid amounts of fun. See, I personally disagree with the review, you just can't take these things completely seriously, you know? Gotta try it for yourself.

The demo was fantastic. IGN rarely knows what the hell they are talking about when it comes to games.

I played the demo and thought it was really great! Don't give up on the thing before you've had a chance to really experience it.

A 7 really isn't that bad, I've played a lot of games they've given 9s to and I've hated them (ie World at War got a 9.2 for the Ps3 and 8.7s on other consoles, and I think the game is utter bullshit....it might possibly be my most hated game ever) . Honestly if you like the concept of the game and were looking forward to it, it will probably be a decent amount of fun.

If you're extremely worried you can cancel the pre order by just sending a message to steam support asking to do so.

The demo was amazing... I don't care about the story but the world felt so full and vibrant.

GTA4 didn't feel like that in my opinion...

The demo for it is awesome I've spent over 2 hours just playing the demo. I have it pre-ordered on Steam to and i can't wait for it's release. It's really annoying seeing it just sitting there in my games list and i'm unable to install it -.-

Besides the people at IGN are morons never trust their opinion.

It's the subpar PS3 version... You're getting it on PC. Don't worry. Check other review sites, there's more good ones than bad.

Check this thread [http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77255] for all reviews right now. Scroll through it for more reviews as the first post isn't updated. Most are around 9/10.

Also, remember that most of these guys are reviewing it based on GTA IV, which is a completely different game. So they're dropping points for zomg no side missions and the game is linear. Which I'm glad it is, considering the first Mafia was, too.

Well when they said "No real freerome" THATS when i fell on the floor.
... Why?

Also: That's the PS3 version. The PC is the definitive version (which you've pre-ordered) and plenty of other sites have been dishing out 9s. OXM gave it a 7, but they gave Kane & Lynch 2 a 9, so...

All I know is that I've clocked 15 hours on the demo. The "negative" reviews I've read have labelled the game's linearity as a fault. Linearity is not a fault in a game that's designed to be linear.

Oh noes, a slightly bad review which has swayed your opinion on a game you were looking forward to! What ever shall we do?

Play it, judge yourself and don't let any reviews sway you.
That's why Viva Pinata is my favourite game, mainly as I ignored the reviews that said it was cutesy and a kids game and experienced it for myself. It's awesome, go look it up, it's really cheap now. And it's on PC as well.

Never played the first Mafia but this looked interesting to me. Definitely looking at renting it first though.

dude IGN is the fox news of reviewing sites right behind x-play. play the game yourself. ever since 2007 IGN has a stick up its ass and any original game that gets down rated.
imo, X-play kind of depends, imo you get good reviews when adam sessler writes them but not so much for everyone else.
