Writing is an action, isn't it? I'm pretty sure that scribbling in a notebook isn't a word. It seems pretty clear-cut to me. And besides-- I've never seen a sword spell the word P-E-N without becoming one itself.

C'mon guys! Everyone knows that pens are an ancient form of weaponry, and that they are very mighty. As for swords, I carry those in my shirt pockets and sign various pieces of paper with them. My swords are so weak I also carry sword protectors, or sheaths, for them.

Ah, but it is the pen who ALWAYS leads the sword.
Depends on what your translation of pen is, a mind or a word? Words don't have to command an action for it to take place. (my translation of sword)

Jesus that has to be one big sword... Would it be like the worlds sickest shish kebab? Or a single swiping motion thus slicing people into neat little halves?
I was thinking the former, maybe have a JRPG game developer leading an army full of em.
Hmmm your logic interests me. I would like to subscribe to your bi-weekly news letter? where do I sign?
Unfortunately I couldn't find people to sponsor it for whatever reason, I will however be sure to send you the annual draft if you're interested.

(also, what part of my logic interests you? Maybe I can elaborate)

Can also write with a sword after stabbing someone.

didn't bond have a pen that exploded? I'm fairly sure that's mightier than a sword. Also, don't most people use guns nowadays? does that mean guns are on par with pens, or what?

Well, they never said anything about a gun, they just said that it is mightier than a sword...
On topic, information is by far the most powerful and important resource on the planet. And you transfer and receive information via the pen, pen of course being symbolic.

That's a damned good graphic novel

OT: I have no idea, but I've begun an anti-art movement in school because I hate the subject so much (but I love the institution) because it is so bland and un-arty. I actually wrote a massive rant IN MY ART BOOK and put the following:

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. So why is it that I am willingly writing a thousand words at the expense of the picture?

If I hadn't been so sombre and serious about it, I would have drawn a little man shrugging, or a mindsplosion

The other day, I was thinking, if actions speak louder than words, then why is the pen mightier than the sword?
because the 2 are not mutually exclusive.

while the wave of a sword can rally many and inspire thousands, the silent wisk of a pen on paper in secret can consign millions to die or alter the fate of nations

The pen is more concealable while the sword is obvious. I could stab your eye out with a good ballpoint if you're not expecting it, but I'll probably know when a sword is coming all the time. The pen would be ideal for the ninja-in-plain-clothes. Of course, such a ninja's actions would be more silent than words, but we shouldn't look too deeply into that, especially after the screams.

Communication is more powerful than violence.
This is only true when both powers involved are rational. You cannot convince a crazy person to stop committing atrocities, but you can completely obliterate that crazy person and have an end to it that way.

Why do you park in a driveway, and drive in a parkway! What's up with thaaaat?
and because i hate that guy and think his jokes are stupid.

that is wrong.
a driveway is a privately owned road. in the instances of a privately owned complex such as a Mall, Estate, Hospital, or private office space you don't park in the 'driveway' you drive up the 'driveway' to the 'parking lot'

a Parkway is a way(road) that runs adjecent to a Park, or is itself a park. commonly Parkways have a lot of side street parking as to allow easier access to the park it is connected to.

so you do Drive on a Driveway and Park on a Parkway.

If actions spoke louder than words then why do corporations spend so much on public relations?

The pen is mightier than the sword though. You can't get a battleship or nuclear warhead by waving a sword about but you can by waving a pen around.
Not exactly...

"Sir, they're firing on us!"

"Wait a second... ah, here it is!"

*Waggles pen in a figure eight pattern*

"Wha-? Sir, I don't understand what you mean."

*Moves on to increasingly large circles*

"We have to do something!"

*Grenade rolls into the room and explodes, killing both occupants*

I think that it has to do more with ideas. If you will recall the American Revolution, people lay down their lives in the defense of an idea. You are taking the 'pen' part to literally.

Why do opposites attract and birds of a feather flock together?
Why are two heads better than one but too many chefs spoil the stew?
Why should you look before you leap when he who hesitate is lost?
