Your combining advise about two different situations. Actions define character more then what someone says and writing can often leave a larger impact on the reader then force/actions(or maybe peaceful written resolutions are better then armed war). In the end both are so cliched that they really don't mean much anymore anyways.

You're refering actions automatically mean fighting. When in reality, actions could be similar to starting a petition, rallying people behind a cause or other peaceful ways.

Major Contradiction? Is he Cpt Obvious's senior officer?

Lame joke aside, Oxymorons ROCK.

Thing is, The pen may be mightyer, But if you're about to be jumped by a bunch of hooded youths, Its usually better to have a sword than a pen.

The pen can change nations... The sword can only stab the guy who signed the paper that changed the nation.
Economics of scale.

The words that come out of one pen can effect and change more lives more quickly than a sword.

(A counter argument to this would, of course, be the Kennedy Assassination)

The pen is not mightier than the sword, I know this as my son and I actually tried a pen out against things found around the house a few years ago, so you know the pen is not mightier than...
A cucumber
a lump of cheese
a fork
a spoon
a tea towel
a saucepan
And a few other kitchen implements! True! ;-) (we actually did do this....)
....You hit your son with a sauce pan? I mean, a lump of cheese I understand but a sauce pan?
`OT: It's not, hell, you can even write with a sword.....with the blood of your enemies as the ink!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, WE hit a pen with a saucepan, the thread is not is the pen/saucepan/cheese mightier than your son, is it? *good grief* It was a bit of pointless fun one day, see? ;-)
