I want to start a little "challenge" with my fellow escapists (it's directly game related, but if this is the wrong area, move it please nil/wilson, cheers).
I think it's safe to say a lot of us are very..."adept" gamers, not to say addicts. Once a game is over, there's usually little else to it than completing some achievements, getting that 100%, and shelfing it. (yes, I created a new verb: "To shelf". Shut up.) However, achievements are generally neglected by most developers, which is strange as it is a rather easy, cheap and effective way to lengthen gameplay...
So anyways, the challenge is simple: Make your own achievement, for any game, and try to complete other people's achievements. Remember to mention the game it's for, and to give it a neat name for style points.
I'll start:
Game: Crysis Warhead
Achievement: With all the Wrath - Melee the final exosuit to death. You can use guns to throw off the smaller foes, but you can't shoot the exosuit.
Game: Crysis/Warhead
Achievement: Berserk - Beat the game using nothing but melee combat. Exception made for the aliens.
Game: Crysis/Warhead
Achievement: Hardcore Berserk - Beat the game using nothing but melee. No exceptions unless it's just impossible (like the final boss in Crysis which is to far away to punch).
Game: Crysis/Warhead
Achievement: Canadian Fury - Cut down every tree in the game.
Game: Assassin's Creed
Achievement: Cutting Edge Technology - Kill all guards in a city, in all 3 districts.
Game: Call of Duty 4
Achievement: IMMA FIRIN' MAH KNIFE - Play through the game using knife only, except where impossible.
Game: Swat 4
Achievement: Stunning - Play through the whole game without a single casualty. Arrest everyone.
Game: Swat 4
Achievement: The Right To Remain Dead - Play through the game killing everyone you can, getting the lowest possible score to actually advance (if you're playing in the lowest difficulty I think you have no minimum, so go kill EVERYONE.).
