Knife's hands fly over the controls as the corvette changes it's corse and heads towards Earth. "You know Paddy, you cna just ask nicely." He says.

 

[RaNDM G]

"W-what?"

"Gee. I've only been standing here for all of a day."

"Oh no."

 

[Saltarius]

"...You two know each other?"

 

[RaNDM G]

"Yeah, look, I'm just gonna go and, uh... Think about this. Yeah."

She hangs up.

"KNIFE! TURN US AROUND OR I'LL BLOW UP ARTIE!" I yell at the intercom.r

"You and Sister have a history?"

 

[Knife-28]

"Threatening a computer program that I've only just met, not your most persuasive argument Trils." Knife replies, "Besides who knows, this might end up being your quest."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"Artie controls the ship life support. And the respawn matrix." I remind Knife. "Incidentally, Earth is uninhabitable, which Paddy has chosen to ignore. Not exactly a good place for questing."

"Artemis only said that the Earth's average temperature has been raised to 49 degrees Celsius. That's only an average summer's day in Australia, hardly inhabitable."

"It is for me. I nearly got heatstroke in Belgium, which is not famed for sweltering heats of 49 degrees. Anyway, the temperature isn't the only problem. What about the carbon gases? Solar flares taking electrics down? The fact that the average surface temperature applies to the polar ice caps and the seas too?"

"You and Sister have a history?"

"Haven't heard from her in a while. Yeah, we used to hang out."

"Seriously? Belgium!" Knife says is disbelief, "[sub]Fucking light weight[/sub] Anyway, their still sending relief vessels there, which means there's obviously people still alive on the surface."

 

[Paddy the Second]

"You maybe thought about wearing a protective suit Trilby? Jeeze. Also of course I want to go back to my home planet to see what the fuck has happened to it. Wait. Computer! What year is it on earth!"

 

[Sigma Castell]

I opena maintanence hatch and start splicing ranom bits of machinery into the ships systems.

 

[Knife-28]

A little red light starts blinking on the control panel infront of Knife as Artemis isolates the foreign machinery. "Fuck's sake. Pads can you go down to the maintanence access hatch in the kitchen and slap whoever's down there upside the head."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"Yes, people are sending relief vessels. Those same people hung up on Paddy. Repeatedly. They don't want our help. I would rather fuck about on a shitty mining colony than fly to Earth, then sit on my ass while Paddy comes up with increasingly convoluted plans to get us to land there!"

 

[Knife-28]

"What makes you think that we need a complicated plan? We fly in, they'll see all the supplies we have and that we can help. What's the problem?"

"The problem is that the UN hung up on Artie, because they don't want our help. We don't have permission to fly to Earth."

 

[Knife-28]

"Oh no, I'm Trilby and I won't help the people on Earth because the scary U.N. hasn't given us permission." Knife says in a girly voice. "Mate, fuck those U.N. fuckwits, right now there are people we could be saving, thats the only thing that really matters."
