Wasn't there a story just a week or two ago about someone who found a bag of weed inside their game? This seems like too much of a coincidence. Also, he felt a lump on the front cover but the pills were in the instruction booklet. Call me crazy but the booklet is on the inside not the front cover. How could he have felt through the case into the book?

Why was he giving his 12 year old son an 18 rated game?
Because he's the parent and doesn't think there's anything wrong with his son seeing video game violence? Because he's the parent and exercises his own discretion rather than accepting the politicized moralizing of industry or government agencies?

I think that's what would have held my interest in GTA 4: if it came with drugs!
I was a multiplayer junkie for quite a while on that game though. I guess I'm just jealous...

Perhaps whomever placed the E tabs in the game was on to something for game ratings:

Every copy of Grand Theft Auto now comes with a 9mm pistol! Valid IDs required!

Now any sanctimonious parent who buys a violent game like GTA then bemoans the obscene violence watching the gameplay after the purchase have no bloody excuse. Any game packing lead is not joking around.

As for the store's "rigorous" checking policy, there is a multitude of possible explanations:

Clerk 1: Woah! These tabs I bought from this guy down the street will totally destroy us tonight!
Clerk 2: [expletive], the boss is coming!!!
Clerk 1: What do we do?!?!?
Clerk 1 & 2: *Looks at GTA box*
Clerk 1: Hell-
Clerk 2: -Yeah!

Come on now, people, knowing E has the Mitsubishi logo on it isn't that rare. Maybe the father watched some of Pablo Francisco's comedy. "Ecstasy at a Techno Club", perhaps? I'm at work so I can't link it from youtube, but go watch it, you'll see what I mean (plus it's awesomely hilarious to boot).

"Mitsubishi makes this? No wonder they sell so many cars! 'Would you like a mint before you go on to the showroom?'"

That's all I could think about once I read the Mitsubishi line in the article. XD
