They let their 12-year old play a mature game, and the 12-year old who plays GTA games is unable to think past candy level yet? Bad parenting, dumb child. On the plus side... Uhh... They had drugs to dull their perception of the idiocy. Or something.

I'm not gonna question the guy buying GTA:CW for his kid, if he's checking what's inside the box and such. I'm just gonna assume he's thorough and can raise a child.

Now, I do want to question how the hell they got there, but, I think we all are.

Ah Mitsubishi's, that takes me back. It doesn't surprise me really, little stashes of drugs that you'd forgotten all about can show up in the strangest of places.

Also if you live in the UK and don't know that a little pill with the mitsubishi symbol on is probably ecstasy (or more likely a load of speed with a bit of MDEA) you have probably been living under a very large rock for the past 15 years, even if you are 12...scratch that, especially if you are 12 (technically you wouldn't have been living under a rock for 15 years if you are 12 but you get the point).

I think this is the most important part of this. What the hell was a 12-year-old doing playing GTA4?

That's some solid parenting right there.

*sigh* another slow news day I guess. By the way, GTA4 is rated 15+ in Australia. Its the highest number we have in our system and Michael Atkinson will have to be long dead before we ever change that.

Thornhill has nonetheless called for stricter policies regarding used game sales. "What made me feel the most distraught was the fact we let our 12-year-old son play the game. Worst case scenario is he could have swallowed those pills," he said. "He plays racing games as well, which have Mitsubishi cars in them, so he could have just thought they were something fun - like sweets."
I can only image the kid dropping the e and then developing extreme feelings of empathy for the GTA characters. Now that wouldn't be a violent game session.

Man I wish the used games I bought came with free bonuses like that.

That's like $50-$100 (depending on how big the dose and whether you're getting "I know you" prices or "club" prices) of E.

This is part of the new GTA Alternate Reality Game - if you take the LSD you will receive secret messages from God pointing you to a website with a password that will unlock whole new insights into the GTA universe. For God's sake man, share the code with us!

I find it hilarious that the only thing most of you care about is a twelve year old playing GTA4, as opposed to a twelve year old finding ecstacy in his copy of GTA4.

I played MK4 when I was 6 years old, and I turned out fine. Hell, when I was 11 and playing MKDA and pulled off my first fatality, all I said was "cool".

Someone can be young of body, but that doesn't mean they can't be old of mind :)

So knowing Mitsubishi marked pills are E is common knowledge?

I wouldn't think most adults would say "These must be Ecstasy!!"
It's called ignorance for a reason :)

That man is a moron. Buys his 12 year old son an M-rated game and calls for stricter used-games-policies because of a couple of pills some dickhead forgot in the manual?

What happend to parenting?

This father should have just kept the ecstasy for himself and felt fortunate that he saved himself $100 for 4 esctasy tabs. Ecstasy should be legal. A group of 20,000 very serious policemen, prosecutors and attorneys have formed a group to legalize ALL drugs, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (http://leap.cc ) They see what happened when we legalized alcohol in 1932 as a good example of how drug legalization would work. We can't stop drugs. They're sick of chasing drug users and sending innocent people to prison for decades just because they like to get high. This foolish war on drugs has lasted 37 years and cost us over a TRILLION dollars and we are not an inch closer to stopping drugs. How many millions of Americans are we going to lock up in prison for decades? Legalize ALL drugs now. Mark Montgomery [email protected]

Bad parent blames anything but himself for consequences, world stops, sarcasm becomes obsolete.

Seriously, though... he was "disgusted" by E tablets? Not by the fact that he was holding a used product which could've been who knows where?

That was so subtle, I think I'll go click a random pro-drug link right now.

If you have ever taken Ecstasy you'll know how strong it is, one tablet is very dangerous, two can kill you. I know people who have died because of that shit.
