I honestly don't think that there's a better way to put it.

Resident WoW player alert! BRING OUT THE FPS PLAYERS!Daemascus said:How is this WoWs fault? This man is just a bad parent. He could just as easly been watching football or something and this could have turned out the same. Blaming WoW is just an excuse.
seriously how can you find a shred of sympathy for that guy? he is 29 has a son and couldn't find the time to just watch his son? Hate to say it but there is a pause button on WoW its called logging out. If he couldn't set aside the time, it took his wife to go shopping, for HIS son and worse having it lead to his son's death he deserves worse than just involuntary man slaughter charges. What he has time to take a piss but not make sure his son is alright? Not to mention who the fuck thinks that pillows is a impassable barrier for an infant?vansau said:I can't help but feel sorry for the entire family, Andrew Warner included.
Not as much as World of Warcraft apparently.Rayne870 said:I know the guy and no he's not a fucking idiot or a sicko. He loved his child very much
I sincerely DOUBT he thought "my son is dying". WoW is not an addictive thing. It is a compulsion tool. It does not physically or chemically affect your body therefore it cannot be labeled addictive. This guy just needed a good slap and his console power cable yanked out by siblings as a kid. It did wonders for my ability to walk off from WoW at a moments notice... and yes I have Alt+F4'd on raids because my mum was suffering from what turned out to be trapped gas. She just said she was hurting quite badly so I left fully expecting a hospital trip.Chefodeath said:Look, don't you find it a bit hard to believe that a man will just think "Well my son's dieing, but shit I gotta finish this raid."
I think there's a good case to be made against WoW, assuming this isn't just a case of one man's gross negligence. Perhaps its time we analyze Wow for its potentially dangerous addictive qualities.
You weren't there and you have no idea what happened. And he did AFK a shit ton to check on his kid.Void(null) said:Not as much as World of Warcraft apparently.Rayne870 said:I know the guy and no he's not a fucking idiot or a sicko. He loved his child very much
If you love your child you feel some form of parental responsibility for their well being and do little things like make sure they are not dead or dieing. You don't let them suffocate to death because you were playing a video game.
How many times have we all heard "brb baby woke up" or "brb baby crying" or "brb baby just put something in their mouth" while playing an MMO? I'm pretty sure even the most brutal of raid leaders would understand "brb baby suffocating" and if they don't... fuck 'em, because your child should be more important than a god damn game.
