I had the same problem. Luckily I solved my problem. By drinking the "back" it looks like a whiskey on the rocks but it doesn't turn your brain in to oatmeal by drinking. Also. It is served dubble glass. One alcoholic and one non alcoholic so you should be with friends when you order it and you can share it (one glass each). No reason leaving an empty glass.

or you can drink something we have here in norway. glogg (that sounds distuscting in english i know but just listen) it kind of taste like cool aid and can be enjoyed both warm and cold.

As a bartender we have no problem with someone asking us to make them non-alcholic stuff, i personally love virgin mojito's, lime, mint, sugar and soda.

On virgin drinks, virgin bloody mary's are freaking awesome too.
