Personally I am And have always been a marvel fan Spiderman, X men, Deadpool, Captian America, I could go on But I wont. I do like Batman and Have been a fan before all this darkside of new batman. I think this new extreme batman is just dc trying to get anyone they can into dc. Batman, Superman The only superoheros who got movies becuase theyre the only heros dcs got people like. Not superman so much mostly batman. Look how many times they remade batman/superman instead of introducing new heros.

I also think when it comes to movies and games the more inaccurate marvel is the, the more they get ripped and DC, Well the can as inaccurate as they want.

Who is the donimate class of Superheros.

Better be good reeasons, saying "Dc/Marvel suks cuz they suk hahaha" isnt a good argument
Powers, storys, costumes have at it.

Like the video game MK vs Dc, Guys with ultimate powers, unbeliveble attacks (MK), face guys with some ok avg superhero powers(DC). Subzero vs Batman who would win, im guess not the billionaire with the badass suit.

Heres a good One to start Dc Billionaire VS Marvel Billionaire
Batman Vs Ironman

You could've included a poll!

And we don't much like Vs. threads here. Plus, I can't decide between them.

You should have made a poll for this. Personally, I'm a huge marvel fan. Stan Lee has had some jaw-droppingly amazing ideas over the years, though I'm a fan of the batman movies, especially the old ones.

In my youth, nothing could beat Marvel. But as I grow older, I'm developing a taste for the generally-darker and more "realistic" (use the word lightly) domains of DC.

But, then again, Spiderman. So I can't really decide.

Marvel because the X-Men rule, and not just because of Wolverine. Dead Pool is also the ultra bomb. His marck talking 4th wall breaking ass will always be the tops.

As for DC all I like from them is Batman, Lobo , and most of the Vertigo comics. But all in all Marvel is better IMHO.

Batman being viewed as 'the dark knight' isn't something that is only just being recently pushed. It's in the origins of the character. I've seen batman from campy 70's to seriously dark, morbid and... well dark. He's a character that has evolved alot over the years, back and forth.

Plus there is no way you can say "who is better? Marvel or DC?" and then suggest people focus on only a small selection of what there is to draw on. Comparing marvel and DC by just one character each is horrible concidering Marvel is more well known for a small selection of people (justice league, etc.) and marvel have an ENTIRE UNIVERSE. I'm not saying Marvel characters arn't as well developed, but in all fairness, for the most part, DC is very small in it's universe, but Marvel is so expansive there is actualy multiple expancive universes.

DC has its advantages - Vertigo attracts some of the top talent in comics, multiple character reboots is a fantastic idea, and Superman / Batman are unmatched for sheer franchising power.

But I've always been a Marvel fan myself, purely because of the X-Men.

Even though I say I'm not a big fan of DC, I [b/]really[/b] like Batman. The most comics/graphic novels I have are of Batman.

Although, I would say Marvel is better. Spider Man and X-Men are the two biggest ones for me.

Plus, I hate Superman so I can't really go for DC all the way.

EDIT: I forgot that DC now has the rights to all of Alan Moore's comics, but I'm still gonna go for Marvel. Alan Moore doesn't even like DC.

I'm rereading The Death of Superman right now, as it's my second favorite graphic novel of all time. So I gotta pick DC because of Superman, some Batman stuff, but mostly because DC has Watchmen, which is my first favorite graphic novel of all time.

My favourite character of all time is pretty much Green Lantern, however my favourite publication is Marvel. D.C. Do gritty stories much better (pretty much everything from Vertigo is gold, Moore's stuff doesn't count IMO they screwed him hard), but they are also too focused on Superman, Batman, and the JLA when it comes to big stories or comic events as of late (which I think D.C. don't do well any more).

Marvel on the other hand, have started to improve on their gripping stories, while their superheroes have always been more interesting, and their comic events have always been quite addictive. Sure they might go OTT every now and then...

[HEADING=2]*COUGH*[/HEADING][small]The Sentry[/small][HEADING=2]*COUGH*[/HEADING]

But I still think if it's not something GRIM 'N GRITTY (which every man and his dog seem to be doing these days) then Marvel beat out D.C. But seriously, Green Lantern for life.

If you want to talk more, we have a comic book group thread (Is it wrong to promote? There's no other way to create awareness, Etheridge does it with Apocalypse Lane!)

I like Batman, the Flash, and the Green Lantern from DC comics.
I like almost everyone in Marvel Comics.

Marvel comics tend to focus on flawed or struggling characters. Characters that have to work to be the hero. Marvel also has better variety of superhero's and powers than DC. Unfortunatly, Marvel also has "clusterfuck" stories. They run all over the place with their stories, and rarely give a story the time to become history for the character. It's a little boring having to keep up with who has died, how they died, and if they have arbitrally come back to life yet.

DC comics have relativly one dimensional characters. Batman would be the only exception of this, while Superman is a shining example of one dimension personality. However, the stories in DC are usually kept together, better written, and actually can become history for the character. A perfect example of this is, the death of the second Robin ( Jason Todd). For years, Batman, Nightwing, Oracle, and the current Robin could look back to his death, and the memories it held. This made for more believable story lines with more character depth. Unfortunatly, they borrowed a page from Marvel, and brought the character back to life, for no good reason. If DC continues to copy the awfulness of Marvel storylines, they will lose the only edge they have.

That said, I am a bigger fan of Marvel, if only for Spiderman, Deadpool, Ironman, and certain members of the X-men.

What's wrong with liking both?
Nothing. No hate here. You can like all of the above.
Good man, Peace.
We are all comic book nerds in this thread really. Why hate on each other when other people hate on us all ready?
