I was a Marvel man all the way, until they merged with Disney. Now I don't know what to do! I don't want to see Hannah Montana guest starring in Spider-man 4. Now all I have left is Batman. Please don't let Nickelodeon buy DC.

DC was purchased by Warner Brothers way back in 1969.

Until recently, I prefered Marvel: It had Spider-man, the X-men and Deadpool. What more could I want? Then, a string of asinine decisions on the part of Joe Quesada (HEROES DO NOT MAKE DEALS WITH THE DEVIL!) I decided to check out the competition. Since then, I am basically a confirmed DC fan, while occasionally dabbling in Deadpool still (He's still awesome). Particular favourites are Batman, natch, Booster Gold, Shazam, JSA, 52 and a few others. They seem to do no wrong. Hey, whats this? Countdown to Final Crisis you say? Well, this should be... Oh, God damn it

I'm all about the Marvel because it has Galactus but it doesn't mean I can't enjoy DC. I don't think they're exclusive.

People seem to love Superman - I like to read more of that to understand why, as I don't really get it.

Try All-Star Superman, by Grant Morrison. Pretty good intro to Supes, along with being something of a modern classic.

Hmmm, DC has Batman, but Marvel has Deadpool. The agony of choice.

Screw it. Until someone creates Batpool, I'm not choosing.

Or should that be Deadman?

The only character that DC have that interests me is Batman (and his villains & allies). Superman I find very, very one dimensional.

Marvel all the way for me. They have Deadpool, Spiderman, the X-men, Iron Man...

FYI the mods don't like vs threads here, so this'll be locked soon!

OT: This is hard for several reasons.
1. Marvel has a better overall roster of superheroes.
2. Batman is the best superhero ever!

So which do I choose, DC for my favourite superhero, or Marvel as they have the better line up?

Well, I realize that D.C is better....
But I still like marvel more. Why? Mostly nostalgia. I grew up on Batman, Teen Titans, Justice league....Wait a minute..... O.k, then I have no idea why I like Marvel more. Maybe it's because of the X-Men. Yay X-Men.

I prefer Marvel. Marvel has that edgy, in your face style that is utterly twisted and insane.

But that isn't the reason I like it.

I like it because Marvel has the capacity to take a step back, bask in its own shadow, then laugh at itself. Good examples of this are Deadpool, Agent X, Spiderman, Slapstick etc who constantly berate and kick dust on the images of iconic characters that have been with them since inception.

Marvel is the kind of company that thinks "you know what? Our most powerful character SHOULD be schitzophrenic and a total agrophobe", while DC are still having their argument that Superman losing a fight against Captain Marvel would be too much for their stock to bear.

But, of course, DC has a twisted image and stuff too, don't get me wrong. But I can't stop thinking about that canon ark where they send all of the villains to another planet, only to bring them back because they can't be heroes without them. Bearing in mind that Mephisto angle with Spiderman... >.>

But at the end of the day, it's called a comic. I read it for two reasons, one of them being in the name: one of them is watch awesome things (few issues back, Punisher broke a guy's jaw by jamming a live grenade in it; in Dark Avengers Sentry came back to life DESPITE BEING ABORTED FROM TIME; Deadpool gets a missile launched at him, winds down both windows, pulls the truck to the side and leans back as the freakin' missile passes through them etc) and the other is to laugh. A lot. (Deadpool leaves a meat processing plant's freezer with armour fashioned out of meat; Bullseye shoves a fountain pen in a woman's eye in the middle of an autograph; Ghost Rider beats a man to death with a huge bible... so on, so forth.)

So yeah. Marvel fanboy.

Oh man. What? No no. Too much responsibility. Really now. I appreciate the sentiment though. Plus I don't buy enough comics to keep up. I am just too poor. :( I still love me some comics though. *sigh* Damn Marvel and their multi-comic story lines.
Too late, it's already written in blood (I extracted some while you were looking the other way) the only way you can get out of it is either you die or the group disbands. Enjoy. ;)
