I prefer Marvel. Marvel has that edgy, in your face style that is utterly twisted and insane.
But that isn't the reason I like it.
I like it because Marvel has the capacity to take a step back, bask in its own shadow, then laugh at itself. Good examples of this are Deadpool, Agent X, Spiderman, Slapstick etc who constantly berate and kick dust on the images of iconic characters that have been with them since inception.
Marvel is the kind of company that thinks "you know what? Our most powerful character SHOULD be schitzophrenic and a total agrophobe", while DC are still having their argument that Superman losing a fight against Captain Marvel would be too much for their stock to bear.
But, of course, DC has a twisted image and stuff too, don't get me wrong. But I can't stop thinking about that canon ark where they send all of the villains to another planet, only to bring them back because they can't be heroes without them. Bearing in mind that Mephisto angle with Spiderman... >.>
But at the end of the day, it's called a comic. I read it for two reasons, one of them being in the name: one of them is watch awesome things (few issues back, Punisher broke a guy's jaw by jamming a live grenade in it; in Dark Avengers Sentry came back to life DESPITE BEING ABORTED FROM TIME; Deadpool gets a missile launched at him, winds down both windows, pulls the truck to the side and leans back as the freakin' missile passes through them etc) and the other is to laugh. A lot. (Deadpool leaves a meat processing plant's freezer with armour fashioned out of meat; Bullseye shoves a fountain pen in a woman's eye in the middle of an autograph; Ghost Rider beats a man to death with a huge bible... so on, so forth.)
So yeah. Marvel fanboy.
