What's wrong with liking both?
Nothing. No hate here. You can like all of the above.
Good man, Peace.
We are all comic book nerds in this thread really. Why hate on each other when other people hate on us all ready?
I like this logic. I hereby promote you to Capo of the CBL.

I do like Batman and Have been a fan before all this darkside of new batman. I think this new extreme batman is just dc trying to get anyone they can into dc.
That is not new, Batman has been getting darker and edgier since his Adam West and Superfriends days in the 70s. Sometimes with stupid results.

Oh man. What? No no. Too much responsibility. Really now. I appreciate the sentiment though. Plus I don't buy enough comics to keep up. I am just too poor. :( I still love me some comics though. *sigh* Damn Marvel and their multi-comic story lines.

I actually like the dark Batman over the cheesy Batman. Bruce Wayne saw his parents get shot. That would mess a guy up for life. Dark brooding Batman just makes more sense. As does the psycho insane Joker over the more cheesy Joker. Batman just exists in a dark world.

You speak the truth my friend, but who cares what other people think! We must start a new religion.

They're both fantastic. Why can't I love them both, without the conflict?

I like both, but Marvel is by far my favourite universe, because it's so much shameless fun. It has no boundaries, no grasp of realism, and no shame, and that's why I love it. Having said that, Vertigo has my two favourite comics of all time, so eh. Love and peace.

Actually, Batman was created to be darker and edgier long before Adam West. The character was orignally developed to be dark, the Batman comics had more murders in their first year than any other superhero comic at the time. When the Adam West television show was produced ( directed by a man who hated comics and decided to ruin them by making the show as bad as possible, look it up) the comics were made to reflect this change. So, millions of people grew up with the idea that Batman was some sort of goofy family friendly comic book hero.

In reality, the darker change that Batman has gone through, is really just going back to the characters begining.

The only thing I've consistently read from DC is Batman, while I've read a lot of stuff from Marvel.

Therefore, Marvel wins.

But seriously, Green Lantern for life
Did you see the Green Lantern Movie "First Flight"? That was actually pretty bad ass. I want more from DC like that. Also the new movie Superman/Batman:public Enemies looks to be pretty freaking awesome as well. Hell, even the Wonder Woman movie kicked ass.

I know batman was ment to be seen as darker but unless you read the comics you wouldnt know. In the adam west days, it was more kid friendly and every cartoon was also kid friendly, i guess cause it was a cartoon, but until recently batman wasnt viewed as dark as people thought, is want i ment.

Yeah, I think even Robin killed criminals left and right back in the day.

Neither are worth reading at the moment...

DC has fallen to Shock Death Stupidity and annoying cross over mega arcs and Marvel hasn't been much better with stupid crap like Civil War, Secret Invasion and Spider Man: Brand New Day.

You want my opinion?

Marvel = Overpowered god modding emos
DC = Epically awesome with many varied, unique, not so whiney characters.

Don't get me wrong, Spider man WAS okay (Until the 80th time he discovered he was a clone) And Deadpool kicks ass....

But DC is darker, edgier, grittier... It's more mature half the time, and just has more unique characters. I mean batman, a great detective rather then overpowered super. The Question, epically hilarious character whose obsessed that all conspiracies are true. Vigilante, a good ol' country boy. I could go on and on, but when I look at marvel, all I see in the end (This is speaking from comic book perspective btw) Is "INsert bad ass super powered personality here" or "Insert Whiney emo powered personality here" or Deadpool and Weasel... thats the only personalities I tend to see.
