I don't really pay attention to tiers but I'll tell you I love.

X-23 and Ammy

Dear lord, those 2 characters are fucking brilliant at what they do.
Yep, it's funny that Ammy does so much and so well too. She's a better jack of all trades than Dante...she's a goddess of all trades :p.
Indeed, and very few of her moves leave her wide open afterwards, unlike Dante who is really easy to punish. Ammy's size also lets her avoid quite a few projectiles.
Even if you're open you can just do a low power slash and trick your opponent into falling for another combo...or just do the mist super for prolonged hitbox combos :D.

I also love her green reflector special...makes those sentinel spammers regret their huge size.

Best: Dante (Don't use'em but he's broken atm, I'm best with wolvy though)
Worst: Chris (fck Chris, idc what his abilities are just fck him, and felicia is a close 2nd)
Fav: X-23 (I didn't think I'd like playing with her that much, but I love her as my opening char)
Worst? Well Super Skrull is a ***** to use. Considering he loves to do tenderizer even when I don't want him to do that.
I do like to play as Super Skrull but I accidentally do the Tenderizer all the freaking time to the point where I'm self-conscious of being a one attack spammer.

I actually love it when a Sentinel user appears...

'Ammy! I choose you!'

Followed by a lot of winning.

@Dreiko Thank you for being the sole person of logic. Am not sure but i can tell you've at least been to SRK before.

I hate talking tiers i find it hilarious that people are saying dante. Look if i really had to say the best as of NOW (games hardley been out) Its sentinal, but take that with a grain of salt, theres no best or worst.

Like how is chris the worst? the dudes amazing at what he does, tiger knee his machine gun its amazing. Plus Veiwtiful joe is also great (hes got point) His lack of a real otg hurts him though but when you have a otg assist the dude is hell in a handbag. Also Spencer is sick as well.

Leave the tier discussions to the pros, not someones personnel opinion as they play the terrible laggy online that dosent take much skill at all.

Saying that playing online takes no skill is rather ignorant, I've also had maybe 3 laggy matches out of the 400 I've played online.

Dustloop actually, but close enough :p.

Most people here are just casual level at best so I try to keep that in mind and not be all "omg how do you not know this?!?!" all the time but a few things that are just plain wrong I can't help but correcting.

This is a team game, just because a char may not be that hot alone it doesn't mean he may not have amazing teamwork with someone...and until you try every possible team combination and assist combination possible you won't really know if anyone is the best or the worst...and to sufficiently try all those things out takes hundreds of hours so people just decreeing things as top or bottom tier after maybe 20 hours with the game (and being generous here) is just ludicrous.

He means that you get away with more scrubby crap online than you normally would. Offline every spamming noob would be punished soooo bad every single time but online it's quite harder even with minimal lag. It's not impossible to be skilled online but most people are not.

best: dante, amaterasu
worst: MODOK, chris, arthur(debatable)
fav: X-23, see "best"

I don't usually EVER play top tiers, but I loved Okami and dante is SOOOOO much fun. Not to mention that I picked my team before MvC3 even had a release date.

Don't worry about it man, like we said here there's no top-tiers yet...and Okami does rock :).

Gotta love when people make tier lists and ultimately don't know what the hell they're talking about.

From my own observations, some of the better characters are, in no particular order: the Sentinel (seriously, his attacks, options, and overall effectiveness is just stupid good), Dante, Storm, Wesker, Chun-Li, and Akuma. Of course, it's far too early to say who can do what to what extent (the game's barely been out an entire 2 weeks), so take this and everything else in this thread with a grain of salt (yes, even that 100% Felicia combo up there. do you know how many odds are actually against you pulling something like that off in an actual match?).

Best: Phoenix
Worst: M.O.D.O.K
Fav: Phoenix

Phoenix is seriously under appreciated due to her low health, but she rocks once you figure out how to set traps, seeker balls and teleport. I've wiped out entire teams with her and with a 5 level hyper bar if she dies then you automatically get Dark Phoenix!

And the quest for Metagame Stagnation hath begun.
Well, yeah but when you say it like that it sounds bad, it's the most awesome part of the game, it is where mastery comes in play and truly impressive styles and techniques emerge.

Seriously! lmao

I deal with it by remembering we all used to be like that in the past, thinking we knew stuff about things we knew nothing :p.

find but its not a measurment of skill really. No matter what! people say theres always lag no matter how good my connection. I've had full second delay. Or some better connections i'll press a button and there will be anyware from 7-10 frame delay. There is ALWAYS some form of delay. I only play offline now either training mode or with my local fighting game group because back in the day before i relized all this i honeslty thought i was a bad player when it was the delay causing me to mess up combos.

Then the lag can affect blocking just lag destroys any kind of reactionary gameplay when thats what fighters are. Online will never be a subsitute for offline gameplay.

My appologies it can take skill but its not a measurement of skill.

Best:...ugh...screw it, I'm doing two teams here
Arthur, X-23, Magneto, Haggar, Deadpool, Wolverine. I'm really good with all of them (I'm decent with most characters)
Worst: Ammy. (great character, just can't use it) Tron. Taskmaster Anyone with a little of those stupid z-spin moves
Favorites: Deadpool, Wolverine

I can use Modok. But I don't know what analysis cube is supposed to do. However, everything else is fairly easy to pull off. And he's amazing to beat Galactus, just fly above every attack

Best: Wesker. He has a counter for just about every fighting style, and his combos are easy enough to pull off.

Worst: Thor. Just not that flexible or even that good at what he's supposed to do.

Favorite: M.O.D.O.K. He's fun to use, and how effective he is depends on how your enemy reacts. Either trick them into trying to spam at a distance (a futile effort), or goad them into trying to get up close (If you prepare and have fast fingers, this is going to cost them DEARLY). Mind games are the best way to use M.O.D.O.K. Also, when facing someone online: Jamming Bomb is your best friend!

I never thought about how he could come in handy against Galactus, but i'll keep that in mind. Although, I have only ever fought against the Modok on arcade and a few of my friends have tried him. I wouldn;t mind fighting someone who could use him though, I'm curious to see how you can win with that bag of crap!

Best: Akuma. He's just a powerhouse, plain and simple.
Worst: She-Hulk. I don't know why, I just suck as her.
Favorite: Dormammu. His black hole ability gives almost total control of the stage. It works as a great deterrent from spammers and wallflowers.

Most Hated: Taskmaster. This is because a character that nobody even heard of/cared about made it into the game instead of, you know, ANYONE ELSE.

Ghostrider
Apocalypse
Doctor Strange (especially since FTW has two Doctor Strange villains in the roster)
Nightcrawler
Cyclopse
Juggernaught
Any Fantastic Four member
Luke Cage
Venom
Iceman (yea, I went there)
Daredevil

I don't really agree with the 'personal tiers' idea, since Tiers are supposed to be a concensus among the community. It's also pretty damn early to tell, usually Tier lists are compiled from a few months of tourney results and the opinions of the pro community.

Still though, I think most people would rank them somewhere around:
God Tier:
Sentinel (100% combo and highest health = OP)
Dante

Top Tier:
Ryu
Akuma
Chun-Li
Amaterasu
Magneto

Possibly in or slightly below Top Tier:
Morrigan
Storm
Wolverine
Phoenix

Dark Phoenix is so hard to judge... could be amazing, could be worthless. Obviously normal Phoenix dies incredibly quickly, but Dark Phoenix is just such a damn powerhouse.
