ok is it just me or is the only damm way thay are going to top any game thay have made in recent memory. IT WILL NEED BOOBS.
That is incredibly dorky, but does sum things up quite nicely.CosmicCommander said:There is not much to say on the matter, so I shall let this image show my excitement:
True, it's pretty common but some of my favorite RPGs eschewed that model: The Witcher and the entire Gothic series. However those games replace loot management with obsessive flower-picking. At least Gothic doesn't cap your inventory in any way but they make you pay for it by forcing you to watch annoying animations for everything you pick up.Mr Ink 5000 said:but isnt that the staple of the majoity of RPG's?CUnk said:I also hate having to constantly manage and distribute loot amongst my squad. Does ME2 do away with this? (No, of course not because that's 75% of any Bioware game.)
You're right about the first two, thanks for catching that. Dragon Age Origins I didn't forget, but didn't mention because I figured it was too recent.Darmort said:They didn't make Knights of the Old Republic 2 or Neverwinter Nights 2... That was Obsidian and (Obsidian...? Dunno, haven't picked it up yet), just the first games in the series. Also, you missed Dragon Age: Origins...The_Oracle said:Oh really? So you've never heard of Baldur's Gate, or its sequels? Or KOTOR? Or KOTOR 2? Or Jade Empire, or Neverwinter Nights 2? Or the Star Wars MMO they're making that looks to be actually good? Or the original Mass Effect, which won multiple awards? I guess other than that they haven't made anything notable...Axolotl said:I'm not trolling I'm just pointing out that Bioware games aren't particularly amazing so saying it's better than them isn't any sort of indication that the game wil be particularly outstanding.
I heartily concurgoogooplex said:I trust in anything bio-ware want to tell me, all through my video gaming life they have been a steadfast staple. I cant wait for this game.
Yes I've played them, it's just that they're not particularly outstanding, I'm not saying Bioware make bad games just that they're a long way behind other RPGs made by other companies.The_Oracle said:Oh really? I've tried to play Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 several times, as well as Neverwinter Nights. For technical reasons I have been unable to play KOTOR, Mass Effect or Dragon Age: Origins, and I've never heard of Jade Empire. In that respect, I guess I'm not all that qualified to to speak authoritatively on the topic of BioWare. However, every single BioWare game that I have played, I have found to be the height of tedium. The plots, while somewhat interesting, failed to capture my imagination due to what I found to be lacklustre presentation. The mere presence of the Infinity Engine in Baldur's Gate was quite the deal-breaker (only Planescape: Torment has managed to entertain me with that engine, and that wasn't BioWare). I found the combat in both Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights to be incredibly repetitive, dull and unintuitive.The_Oracle said:Oh really? So you've never heard of Baldur's Gate, or its sequels? Can't think of a better WRPG developer. Care to enlighten me?Axolotl said:Yes I've played them, it's just that they're not particularly outstanding, I'm not saying Bioware make bad games just that they're a long way behind other RPGs made by other companies.The_Oracle said:Oh really? Troika, Black Isle Ion Storm and Origin systems to name a few.Amnestic said:Can't think of a better WRPG developer. Care to enlighten me?
Black Isle don't exist anymore, neither do Troika, Ion Storm or Origin Systems. All four of those examples are of defunct game studios which shut down.Axolotl said:Troika, Black Isle Ion Storm and Origin systems to name a few.Amnestic said:Can't think of a better WRPG developer. And? They may be defunct but it doesn't change that their RPGs are all of a significantly higher level of quality than all of the games Bioware has ever made.Amnestic said:Black Isle don't exist anymore, neither do Troika, Ion Storm or Origin Systems.
