Wow, those awards are a joke. Ass Creed 2? Plants VS Zombies?! Come on, you had Batman: Arkham Asylum and Shadow Complex in those respective categories and you picked those crapfests? Pokémon Heart Gold/Soul Silver for best portable game?! Those are the worst games in the series! And then you put Zelda in the RPG section.
This is why you don't have awards based on popular vote: People are idiots. Of course, the people organizing the ballots are stupid too if they put Zelda in the farking RPG section!

Wow Mass Effect 2 was freaking horrible. I know this new generation lacks taste and refinement, but ME2 was pisspoor compared to it's predecessor. Plot is lame (Nice one trick pony there), characters mostly unlikable, dumbed down RPG elements and utter shit AI.
Mass Effect 2 deserves that award and I thank everyone that made that possible.

Unfortunately Wii Sports Resort and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing didn't win. Every time there is a contest like these, people try and troll via the results (HAY GUIZE, FOOTBALL MANAGER 2010 FOR GOTY!), but nobody thinks smaller. They won't win the GotY, but what would hardcore sports fans do if Wii Sports beat FIFA or Madden?

ME2 was pretty decent, but not my top game by far. But as it was dumbed down for the console masses it doesn't surprise me.

Eh. Deserving, among the competition. I still think Dragon Age was the "story of the year", but it had admittedly a less fun gameplay than ME2. ME2 is both long, engaging, has stellar characters, and a flawless gameplay that never gets old.
But it also has the worst main story in any BioWare game since Neverwinter's official campaign module. Nothing about the Collectors/Cerberus/Human Reaper was meaningful at all. Fortunately, that's only a small part of the game.

Simple really. Think about how Zynga were tearing through March Mayham; the common link is the million-plus people that go through their websites, getting a "cast your vote for us" as they pass through. Since the Golden Joysticks work entirely on the volume of votes, Jagex's army of zombies makes for a hard competition.coldshadow said:
