A few million in the first week?

Doesn't anyone else find that weird? It's a planet extermination, and all they could do in a week is a few million out of several billion?
The guy goes on to say that they're starting to get reports from other major cities after he gives that number, meaning he was still just talking about London, England when he said millions had died. Yeah.

That's the thing for me. Bioware does relationships and in-party dialogue like a piece of fuckin' art, but they can't do ANYTHING else. Overall, their plots tend to leave much to be desired.
Agreed. I'm going to buy Mass Effect 3 for a lot of reasons, but I honestly could buy it just to here more dialogue from Mordin and Legion. If they get pushed into some minor side-role, I will be crushed.

Especially since it makes absolutely no fuckin' sense
You know, the more I think about it the less sense it really does make. Didn't the AI in the first game say the reason the Reapers were so effective was because they always took out the Citadel first, crippling the ability for each galactic community to defend each other? Thus the Reapers could wipe them out at their leisure. But here they're attacking a major civilizations home world right away. Harbinger might as well be saying "HEY GALAXY, WE'RE ATTACKING NOW! ARE YOU READY? BECAUSE WE'RE HERE! JUST THOUGHT WE'D LET YOU KNOW!".

I guess without Sovereign to keep him in check, Harbinger's collection fetish is clouding his judgment.
Yeah dude, I gotta be honest, ME2 could probably have been completely removed and had almost no impact (besides the introduction of Mordin and Legion - arguably Thane and Jack as well) on the series as a whole. Because honestly, all it does is introduce Harbinger... who's basically exactly the same as Sovereign. Gasp and fear.

*Minor ME1&2 spoilers*

I'm curious to see how previous choices effect the final game when we import our characters. For example, what if the humans are in charge of the council after the events in ME1, will this effect Earths fate, or if there's still a multi-race council will Earth be fucked due to the council's incompetence. I feel the Turians may be a valuable ally, and we may learn more of them. As a former enemy, having them as an immediate ally will be an interesting story element. Another interesting possibility is having the Rachni to call upon, if you made the good choice in ME1. Or furthermore, being able to end the genophage (sp?) of the Krogans to combat the Reapers, which would be an incredibly important choice to make, one that has great lore behind it. Or having the Geth on your side, or not, which could add religious elements to the story. One thing I'm most interested in is what of the ME2 companions. I don't think they'll be in the final game too much, what with them being able to all die and whatnot. But if anyone can incorporate them into the story, it's Bioware.

I think the possibilities for the finale of this epic RPG are boundless, and if Bioware get it right, they'll have created an incredibly deep and interactive story. There's an amazing amount of choices I can think of, and playing through all 3 games will be a real treat.

Methinks that guy was referring to London only, maybe UK. So, seven million dead is a pretty much total wipeout for London, at least. Multiply that by the number of total Reapers on the planet - yeah, 90% of world's population in a week is not too shabby =))

I dunno, Harbinger and Sovereign are quite different. All Sovereign did was speak in a monotone. He was menacing at first, but on reflection he's not really interesting in any way as he lacks any personality.

Harbinger on the other hand is a complete megalomaniac. Every time he "appears", he babbles on about stuff you don't care about/can't understand just because he can. Nobody actually listens to him, talks to him, or even acknowledges him. But he keeps talking anyways. Harbinger at least gives the Reapers some personality, albeit not necessarily in the right way. I like Harbinger, but its because I find him amusing. It's like he treats the galaxy as one big Pokemon game; he has to collect all the species and turn them into Reapers.

I don't find him intimidating though, which is probably a big problem considering he's the main villain now. He just makes me laugh.

This video has made me excited for this game even though I don't even like Mass Effect.

Breath-taking trailers FOR THE WIN!

The funny thing about this trailer is that someone with no prior knowledge of the Mass Effect series would watch this and think that it's another grey futuristic shooter about Earth being taken over by aliens. I'm willing to bet that very little of the game will actually be set there, as the implications toward the end of the trailer are that Shepard will be off doing his own thing, possibly rallying an attack force Dragon Age-style or battling Reapers in other parts of the galaxy as well, since I highly doubt the Reapers are only attacking Earth.

But anyway, yeah, I don't think anyone on the face of the planet has ever been more excited for anything than I am for this game.
I think that was the most annoying part of ME2 for me. The Reapers are focusing entirely on the weakest aliens in the galaxy just because one of them got lucky a couple times? Robot's shouldn't believe in beating 'the chosen one'.

ME2 perfectly ended. It shouldn't continue because it's going to ruin the story... Well for me.
You're kidding, right? That massive cliffhanger was a good ending? Seriously?
Indeed, that's what I was going to say.

Ehh, I don't think I am gonna fall for this one again Bioware.

Was rather disappointed by ME1, tricked by the totally awesome trailer of Mass Effect 2, and now this.

If they figure a way to just revamp the Combat entirely, or take it out completely I'll be in. But it is way to much muscling through to get to the story.

Definitely rent, but Buy?

I don't think so.

I bet Jeff Goldblum uploads a computer virus to the Reapers.
Damn you.

Now I'm gonna be disappointed with the game because I'm rather positive that won't happen.
