Yes another ME3 thread and NO not a ***** session about the endings.

Just a thread to discuss what no-one seems to have talked about.

What was your favorite weapon in ME3 and what made it special for you?

Mine was the Scorpion hand gun that shot out little mass balls that stuck to the enemy's and then explode! I never used any other weapon once I found that little gun!

Black Widow. End of story.

It was love at first sight... She was just sitting there in the Spectre Requistions being all coy and playing hard to get but I won her over eventually and took her on a beautiful trip to Thessia for our first date.

Good times.

As for specifics, she's got Widow level damage with 3 shots per clip (per sink?) efficiency increase of at least 9001.

I wound up mostly using the Renevant.
I admit I tend to play on easier difficulties since I'm not much for shooters, thus I'll gladly take the joys of just laying down fire instead of going for pretty little headshots.

On my second play through and haven't decided which of the standard weapons I prefer just yet but I laughed like a maniac when I got to take down the {edited to remove spoilers} with the M-920 Cain. Completely over the top. Loved it.

Primary: The Mattock Rifle with extended barrel and scope.
Secondary: Geth Plasma Shotgun with extra clip and shredder mod.

Covered every role with just two guns.

Prothean Rifle >.> I liked it, it was effective, and it was a refreshing change. Plus it never runs out of ammo, so I just whored it all the time...

I took one look at the Scorpion and immediately yelled: "Plasma Grenade!"

However, my gun was the Prothean Particle Rifle. Did everything I wanted, had the rapid fire, huge ass clip and also the Death Star/Void Ray beam. Also, looked sleek and sexy.

My favorite is the Geth plasma shotgun by a nose over the Carnifex heavy pistol, my favorite from part two. I only like it better because I play a vanguard and the Carnifex was so hard to find(Jacob mission).

Assault Rifle: Geth Rifle.
Sniper Rifle: Black Widow.
Pistol: Scorpion.
Shotgun: Geth Plasma Shotgun.

Being a soldier I don't really rely on powers.

I really like ALL the guns in the game.

But my faves are:
Mantis
Vindicator
Graal Spike Thrower

I hink I'm the only one with love for the Mantis. <3

M-77 Paladin with barrel extension and a scope, Haven't met a situation this little bad boy can't handle. Popping Cerberus lackey heads off at sniper range is just satisfying. For secondary I usually swap between the Revenant with an extended clip and the recoil dampener (can't remember what it's actually called) For when I'm fighting reaper enemies, and the Mattock for everything else.

I'm loving the Phaeston right now. It's like the upgrade to the Avenger, and the Revenant. I really love that rifle so so so much.

Not the only one; I thought it was a great balance between weight and power. As for assault rifles, though, I actually really liked the Avenger; it's lightweight, high fire rate, OK damage, and accurate as hell if you mod it properly.

Oh, and the Falcon. Scaled-down version of the M-100 that uses thermal clips? Yes please.

A bit a tough call for me, to be honest. Still, here's some of my favourites:

Black Widow -- The one thing that I don't like about the Widow and Mantis is that they're single-shot clips; I just don't like it when I have to reload after every single shot. The Black Widow has the power of those rifles (well, slightly less), but a three-shot clip. Perfect! I actually ended up using it for about half of my first playthrough; in other words, almost exclusively once I had bought it. The only downsides to this weapon is the heavy weight and small base mmo count; the former you just have to deal with, the latter can be fixed with the spare ammo mod (sometimes another mod would be nice) and an ammo power bonus (lose the headshot bonus). Nevertheless, this weapon makes mince-meat out of the toughest foes in the game; armored foes, once that armor is weakened with warp or other debuffs, can be killed in a single clip.

Mattock -- My go-to weapon in ME2, and much the same in ME3. Semi-auto nature rewards precision, but rate of fire and clip-size allow for some spamming (just have to keep you aim on your target). Not too heavy either.

Sabre -- The Mattock with significantly more power, it's almost a sniper-rifle. I actually ended up attaching a scope to it, and it helped a lot with the aiming of this beast. You don't really need the scope for the extra accuracy it gives the weapon; but it between the slow rate of fire (no spamming with this gun) and recoil, it definitely helps the player aim better with it. Weight is an issue you just learn to deal with, but the small clip size (for an assault rifle) can either be worked around or fixed with a mod. Also a tad slow to reload as well, but not too bad (Revenant is awful for that).

Graal Spike Thrower -- Scarily accurate shotgun. Like the Sabre and Black Widow, the main issues are the weight (yeah, I pretty much learned how to live with -200% power recharge times). The surprisingly good accuracy of this weapon means it's actually easy to miss, and the fact you can charge your shots gives you all the more reason to aim well; you can use the accuracy mod to reduce the spread of this weapon, making it useful even at longer ranges. Nevertheless, a charged shot from this thing (and when all the spikes hit the same target, which they usually do) obliterates it. The only concern is the ammo: three shot clip, not much in reserve (fixable with a mod), and a bit slow to reload. You really have to make your shots count.

Disciple -- I'm not a huge fan of weapons with a lot of spread, but this was the shotgun I used when I felt like I needed something like that. Shots got a nice sci-fi sound to them, and it works well.

---

I didn't use many SMGs or Pistols during my first playthrough, so no comment on those.
But if I had to pick a single weapon as my overall favourite?

Black Widow

The power of a single-shot rifle, but with a three-shot clip.
Every bit as awesome as it sounds.

Wraith. It's the Spectre Requisitions shotgun. It's lightweight, so I can use my powers very frequently. And it's powerful, so...I can tear shit up with it. I haven't found it in the multiplayer yet, despite buying over a dozen Spectre packages.

Geth rifle. Because it's geth.

I gave Tali the Geth shotgun, and it was always amusing to see her in cover with the bloody shotgun sparking away because of a graphics glitch. Unless it's MEANT to do that, but that would be weird.
