HW specs? Works fine for me no issues, but I've got an AMD processor. Looking it up, it appears most problems are fixed, which appear to be intel based, by forcing 2 HW thread AI and running in XPSP3 compatibility mode.
Steam still says "Notice: Fallout 3 is not optimized for Windows 7 and later."
Comments are filled with "tips" on how to fix it and complains.
Not exactly confidence inspiring.
The game just wasn't code to scale.
Lets not forget games like Deus Ex that had to be patched to work right on modern systems.

Why, yes, there are many imitations, but you're still much more likely to get originality in a free system rather than a gatekept one.
Hey, I wasn't the one claiming how original games on PC are.
Ironically, clones are less common on consoles because many console makers don't approve cloned games for release - it's bad for everyone involved; revenue gets spread thin, game developers can't recoup their cost (especially the ones that made the original and had to do a ton of playtesting), good developer goes out of business, console makers lose another good developer who produces good games on their systems.
Also, generally, the likes of Sony (basically anyone that isn't Nintendo) let the market decide on what is good and what is bad. As long as your game doesn't crash like nuts (quite certain Bethesda only gets away with it because they are big and their games are in high demand), contain outright pornography, and isn't too similar to other titles (if your game is original, that shouldn't be a problem), they will allow it.
