Wait, what? Now superheroes are considered inappropriate for children? SUPERHEROES?!

These guys might disagree with the CCFC. I suggest that this group listen to them.

Have they ever seen Tom and Jerry, I wonder? Or Loony Toons? Cartoons that are ostensibly the foundation of several generations' entertainment base, but have we ever sat and viewed them as unnecessarily violent? Should we now censor it every time Buggs tricks Elmer Fudd into shooting himself? Or when Yosemite Sam goes on a swearin' and shootin' rampage? Or how about the Rube Goldberg devices of doom and demise orchestrated by Tom in attempt to catch Jerry? How about the win or die scenarios of the Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote?

Oh, wait, those aren't violent--they're healthy doses of surrealism and torture.

Anyone under the age of 30, who hasn't grown up in some sort of cult, knows how silly this argument is.

Chalk it up to people, whose own childhoods being devoid of fun and excitement, will do their damn best to make sure that no one else will have fun, ever.

They remind me of the puritans - you know, those no-nonsense, fun-is-a-sin types who are doing their best to drag everyone back to the 1800's.

hell yeah!I bet know you'll start hearing that barbies convince children to watch porn!
Is there anywhere else in the media where you'll be able to find such skewed proportions on a woman? XD

OT: This is utterly ridiculous. I fail to see how on earth a superhero toy is supposed to expose a child to violence. It is a TOY. I remember growing up with way more dangerous stuff than this, and I turned out fine. I'm sure that statement can be said of most of mankind.

In Malaysia, the TV stations were 'compelled' by the government to remove the Morphin' from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers

The excuse? They didn't want children to be influenced into taking morphine.

You know, this reminds me a bit of the (sigh) Westboro Baptist Church, who believe that superheroes are idols that fanboys worship as gods. (I feel so dirty for even bringing those people up).

My point is, some people just don't understand what the hell they're talking about, and they don't really care. They're on a CRUSADE to save the world from... whatever the hell they think is evil that week, and they're not going to let anything get in their way.

My only real concern is that if such skewed people can get their way, the world might run out of Awesome stuff like these toys.

Please, think of the Awesome.

These action figures are so innocent, I feel like the CCFC has got to be joking. This would be like Jack Thompson saying that Carnival Games [http://www.amazon.com/Carnival-Games-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B000QD7BBM/ref=pd_ts_vg_34?ie=UTF8&s=videogames] was going to cause World War III.
Anyone who's played this game will know that it is actually awful enough to start a war. It is infuriating.

is this another one of those attention grabbing schemes where the corp funds some bogus organization for some free internet self promotion?
"Mcdonalds is giveing away superheros in its Happymeals, this is horrible! did we menchen it was Mcdonalds doing this? what a bunch of jerks MCDONALDS is."- seems to be the underlying tone here. for those who dont know what the sodding hell im on about- im refurring to a marketing tecnique to keep a brand name in the consumers head to increase sales.
And if this isen't that- then all i have to say is "oh look another one of those 'save the motherf$%&ing childerens groups", cause you know those things {the children} are so fragile and defenceless, we must save them from stuff thats much better then things they could see/hear after 5 minutes of sufing the web or being at school.
quite frankly the CCFC and PETA and all those other zealot fanatics can just fall down some stairs and have an appifany about what douchbags they are for all i care.

Lol censorship much? Geez, those things don't look violent. Children are violent, period. God, just let them have their stupid toys so they'll shut up and eat their apple slices. -_-'

These people sound as if they are living under a rock. And to think, people complained when I said the world is run, dictated by, and will be destroyed by overly politically correct Gestapo agents.

Actually this article makes me want to buy more because if they pull the product the toys will become more valuable.

I pretty sure someone in the other 13 pages must have said this, but I'm a bit too lazy to scan through all the pages.

Why would an organization like CCFC be concerned about the toys at McDonald's when they should be banning McDonald's outright. McDonald's is the biggest commercialized restaurant out there. Why are they bringing their kids there?

They want commercial-free children, they may want to not buy a Happy Meal(TM).
