... are they serious? So, political correctness WILL be the thing to kill us after all then. That's just... wow.

Where were these people when kids were watching Indiana Jones movies? Face melting, Nazis... dear Lord, they would've started rioting in the streets!

Yes, Happy Meal toys are dangerous. Along with;
G-rated movies
Marios Early Education games
A book on the ABCs
TV shows ABOUT learning the ABCs

seriously, do adults think kids are THAT retarded?
Its not like kids have 100% chance of going on a killing spree at the FIRST sign of those happy meal toys

People should stay away from McDonalds because the food is terrible for you and tastes like shit, not because they give away free action figures, which I wish they would've done when I was a kid.

Oh come on! Didn't any of these people have a childhood? Have we seriously gotten to the point where we're outlawing superheros?

Burger King > McDonalds.

But either way, such bull' I cannot accept anymore. Really. What's so wrong about the Hulk? Or the Human Torch? Aren't they fighting for justice or are they super villians now?

If the baddies won't listen to reason and threaten humanity, violence can be used to defeat them but not murder them. Those movies are usually good. I don't understand them at all. So screw you.
Actually, the hulk just sort of fights everything these days. I think he went nuts on Xavier not too long ago.

Wow.. I thought the Government couldn't get any dumber. Guess they showed me. I thought Superheroes were good guys. The CCFC saying that these toys that INCLUDE CAPTAIN AMERICA as bad for children is as dumb as Star Wars Holiday Special..
It's an NGO. Don't blame the government unless you are sure what you're talking about.

Hell, if I was McD's I'd be already making the next range of happy meal toys, 'Daffy Dictators' with Moody Mussolini (with lampost swinging action!), Happy Hitler, (with working salute), Shavin'Stalin (with removable 'tache) etc.

Way I see it, if you're gonna get protests, give em something to moan about :D

this all goes back to one main argument violence is wrong and while that is true it is also an inescapable part of being human the main falicy they operate under is that we have evolved past a need for violence, and therefor it should be swept under the rug. unfortunatly we havent and it cant. we as people are simply violent by nature and we need to stop ignoring this blaring fact or else i think we will have violence continue to be released through inapropriate avenues.

By god when will old, disconnected idiots just stop assuming that there exists some magical effect between toys and people who play with them.

The only people who would join this group would be the stupidest and most ignorant of bored suburban households. They really have nothing better to do so they set off on a pointless feud so they can feel good about such a pointless existence.

And i imagine the first person who set this up either believed it or is completely insane. The two being very tightly linked however..

All of these 'politically correct' special interest groups need to die (horribly) in a fire. So now you can't even give away superhero toys in the U.S. without someone bitching and whining about it.

*Gasp*

I suppose all of my violent childhood toys spurred me to make that violent statement.

Seriously though...

Does anyone remember when kids toys were just cool, and nobody was peering over our parents' shoulders and saying, "You shouldn't buy that for your child because it will make them kill (insert gender/race/religion here)."

The CCFC are idiots, plain and simple! All they want is attention.

Yes it's definitely McDonald's happy meals that are corrupting our children. It isn't in any way the horrible parents who buy their kids entertainment that involves chainsawing people in half.

So your saying that they act like annoying children? That actually makes a lot of sense.

I guess the irony is that most of these "pg 13" movies are based on comic books and cartoons written for kids. I mean, its not like they're watchmen toys or based on Sin City. Every one of those characters were on Saturday morning cartoons that I grew up with. Maybe this is a joke? I cant understand the logic behind this.

I never liked McDonalds. I would actually like that it disappears. But their excuse to remove them is kinda pointless. I would have a lot more reasons to retire those games...
Why would you like it to disappear? Nobody forces you to eat there right? I assume you live in the US, and if so, you must realize that you live in a free society. Where people are free to make their own choices (this is where it gets dicey) EVEN WHEN YOU DISAGREE WITH THOSE CHOICES.

To an extent, yes. I am also pointing out that these kinds of special interest groups are detrimental to society. All they do is attempt to get people concerned about things that aren't problems at all; making mountains out of mole hills so to speak, and raising concerns over nothing just to get attention.

I remember a time when toys were toys. They were fun, and that was it! It didn't matter what they were.

Surely the ploy of using toys to manipulate children to demand their parents bring them to eat fatty, non-nutritional foods is more a cause of outrage than a few plastic toys...but then again I have children's best interests at heart, not an insane puritanical streak.
It seems to me that your post hints at the very same totalitarian streak that motivates this ridiculous organization. The difference being that you think you have a better angle. At no point in the article did I read any religious message from the CCFC. You read that into it, because you detest religion, and imagine that it is at the heart of censorship you supposedly hate. I'd bet you at 10 to 1 odds, that this organization is secular. Their name implies a leftist bent, not a religious one. I'm personally not religious, but I always get a kick out of watching big government leftists wail and gnash their teeth every time they think somebody BESIDES them, is trying to censor people. Perhaps you've forgotten the Parents Music Resource Center, or the Fairness Doctrine, the latter of which even now many of the current fascists on the left would like to resurrect?

I suppose I may have read more into your post than is there, but I think I've managed to get a pretty good bead on where you're coming from your first line.
