So ... goodbye to lame shit like Urbanmechs? Good riddance.

Although, classic battletech did include a bunch of silly mechs.
Personally, I want to pilot a Charger.
"What the hell is an 80 ton high speed scout mech doing armed with only 5 small lasers? Oh right. This stupid thing is supposed to use its XL engine to punch you with its fists."

Not terribly reassuring on the marketing front, but it's good to know that at least one of the original FASA crew still cares about his stuff.

Between Battletech (well, mostly Mechwarrior for me) and Shadowrun, I owe a great deal of early fandom to them. Sad that they had to cave to WizKids and Microsoft, who has conveniently buried the Shadowrun license for all eternity.

As long as it isn't like MechAssault I'm interested. Hopefully they'll include more mechs this time 'round. Give me Commandos, Banshees, Archers, Marauders, Centurions, Cyclops, Jagermechs, Hunchbacks, etc.

I hated the Urbanmech so much. I can only imagine that the MechWarriors who pilot those had to have pissed off someone high up to get that walking trashcan.

edit: Also would be nice if every Mech didn't go critical when they get downed.

This is awesome new!! I so can't wait for a proper Mech game. Mech 3 was my favorite of the series; I have so many nostalgia-waxed memories.

Hopefully they won't screw this up.

Yes, yes, yes, so glad there won't be those annoying clanners, Inner Sphere rules!

Oh man. I thought this was dead. My buddy asks about it every time he goes into Gamestop. He should be happy about this news.

Can not fucking wait to pilot a sexy Dire Wolf.

Wait, there aren't any Clan 'mechs? Dammit. Hopefully they'll have more 'mechs outside of the campaign.

The real question is, how many heavy gauss rifles are they going to let me cram in a Daishi?
That's what I wanted, sadly we're pre-Clan Invasion.

As long as I get to pilot a Foxkit (Uller) around and blow stuff up, then I'm game.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. I really hope this turns out well. I'll be busy playing MW Living Legends in the mean time.

I really hope this pans out.

I have very fond memorizes of the old MechWarrior games from when I was young, it'd be awesome to see a proper reboot of the franchise.

As long as I can punt people from a mile away with Gauss Rifles I'm happy.

But only with a Timberwolf, with plenty of missile racks on board too... and a couple of medium laser just in case...
oh boy... let me spell this out for you.

the 3rd succession war began in 2866 and is considered to have officially ended in 3025. the Mad Cat while developed in 2945, was restricted to the Clan Home Worlds until 3049 when the Clans invaded.

further Gauss Weapons, pulse lasers, and even Ultra and LBX Autocannons were not re developed by the inner sphere until 3037, and not put into earnest production until 3050.

the weapons available at the time are as follows

Lasers- Small Medium and Large (no ER or Pulse)

Autocannons 2, 5, 10, and 20 (standard only)

std PPC (no ER)

LRM 5, 10, 15, and 20 racks.

SRM 2, 4, and 6, racks (no streaks or Artemis on either.)

that's it, pretty basic stuff. further more the mech list would be limited to things found here. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Technical_Readout:_3039

Even though I enjoy the Clans era of Battletech, the original look and feel of the BT world was a spacefaring civilization in decline, where mechs and other technology were precious, ancient things from a bygone era.

It would be fantastic to have them reboot into that, so that finding a Star League cache once again means something, and trying to take out your enemy with minimal damage to his 'Mech is crucial.

Yeah I got into MW4 a year ago with the free release.

Now I want MW5, I want it now and I don't care how.

Dude, it's a videogame.

I sincerely hope it ignores established canon or gets it's date shuffled along, not having the Clans present would be criminal.

Besides, I don't want the Atlas to be the all powerful visage of death, I want to out range it with my Clam LRMs or swarm it with Elementals or just plain march up in a Warhawk and melt it's face off from fifty metres away...

Let me first say that I love Battletech/Mechwarrior and have been a fan ever since my five year old eyes were treated the to awe of CG in the Battletech cartoon. Later, I got caught up in the universe with the TCG, books and games.

That being said, I sense a DNF coming along the way.
