I think the smaller "stretchers" are ok - just. The ridiculously large ones are just weird, especialy when taken out. I do, however, hate the "diamond" stud earrings that so many seem to have.

Where I live. Guys wear earrings to show other guys with earrings they are badass and will beat them up. We call them 'jhonnies' which is somewhat the equivalent of the american redneck.

They act like amfetamine fueled chimps and they look like amfetamine fueled chimps. Which makes me think they are amfetamine fueled chimps and we should study them because they may be the missing link in human evolution.

I'm guessing these are the new trend or something. Gotta say, I don't find these as disturbing as some guy putting an obviously fake golden loop through his ear. Partially because the gold earring is commonly worn by filthy, slick types around here.

However, I've seen people who have hole-rings like the OP showed us, but about 4 times as big. That's when it becomes disgusting.
It becomes disgusting when they forget to put the hoop in and you see them with a giant hole in their earlobe and it flaps about in the wind.

I have never seen that, but the image saits very vividly in my head right now and yes that's the pinnacle of disgusting.

Pirates only.
But what if you want to be a pirate?
Er.. I don't think pirates ask permission to do anything...

...
Wow, I have a lot to learn about being a pirate. I suppose I could be one of those lame ones with the pornstaches, but then I wouldn't be able to say "wenches" or go "arr".

I don't think gold rings or diamond studs suit guys, particularly if they are in the lobe of the ear. It just doesn't look right to me.

I currently don't have any piercings or tatoos, but want some of each (tatoos to cover some scars from an accident on my arms, piercings for...I dunno, I just want some).

However, I am tempted to get 3-5 silver twisted rings in the back edge of my left ear (sort of in the top 1/3-1/2 of the ear), a bar through the top, and either my eyebrow or lip done (either a labret spike on my lower lip just a the top of my beard or a simple silver ring on the right eyebrow). Nothing on the lobes, and no flesh tunnels (as they are called here).

OH come on guys, I've not read all of this thread but it seems to me that it was just created to hate on people that want to change their body.
I agree that when you have a hole that you can put your fist through it is a little too much but I don't see where all the hate is coming from.

well some of it comes from insecurity about their own sexuality, re the "that's gay" comments, other than that it's just ppl being afraid of something different

Well, there's your problem.

I didn't make this thread to hate on people with earrings; I made it so we could all discuss, like people, our differing views on men wearing earrings.

And just because a few people say they dislike men who wear them, or the earrings themselves, does not mean they're "hating on" these people. That is just their opinion.

i believe those are called spacers and it is all about moderation. i have them and they are not large. but seriously the larger ones (the ones that i can put a pickle through) is sort of gross

i am all for being yourself but don't go too far you don't want to be like this

I don't like earrings in guys, nor do I like the look of spacers in anyone.

I find it amusing how all the guys wanting to appear hard have sparkly earings. That's about as hard to me as a sparkly vampire.

I think earrings look stupid on anyone. I guess most people just think "metal through ear? yeah that's awesome" but it seems some people genuinely think they improve someones appearance.

Those chunky tunnel things are just insane though, there's no way anyone can think those look good. And i'm sure they enjoy the waggly ear lobes when they move on from them.

I have both ears pierced. Granted they aren't Guaged with plugs, but that practice is for some people religious. There are many tribes that practice this as not only a religious aspect, but also as a part of a test to becoming a "man" in many cases. I don't have a problem with the smaller plugs, not really into the larger ones myself. I pierced my ears really for no reason at all other than that I was compelled to do so. Now I've had numerous people look at me with my fuzzy beard and assume i'm a biker (just a big nerd), but hey...if they want to think that, more power to them.

It annoys me, ear rings and ear piercings that men wear. I don't know why, it just looks weird and wrong. I also hate those god damn massive circles girls wear as ear rings. So stupid.

Still, everyone has an opinion. And my opinion is:

Depending on the sort of earing, it's either the usual desperate fashion, or goddamn faggotry.

And I know faggotry.

That said, nipple (and others, ahem.) piercings on girls are totally a turn-on. Still too much effort though.

I sometimes like the gauges, only on the right person though. I can definitely see why a lot of people think they're stupid though, especially the ones that look like someone took two hockey pucks to the ears.

I myself am a dude and have earrings, not gauges, just slightly larger than normal round studs, stainless steel. I like it because I think it looks good (obviously.)
