Metal Gear Solid 4 Coming To Xbox?

I've been wanting MGS4 on the 360 since it came out and when I heard Kojima say that it was NEVER coming to the 360, I died a little inside...

I'm not 100% sold that there will in fact be MGS4 on the 360 and I certainly am not getting my hopes up for it either.

All these Sony exclusives jumping ship to the 360 is really just starting to show the future of the games industry and how there probably will only be one super powerful console...

I will say that the PS3 optimizations may be difficult to transfer, but not impossible. I mean, they barely use the six-axis at all, and they can just tone down certain things that would overload the 360 processor. I would love to see the game on 360, but I doubt it will happen.

Yes, clearly nobody could have seen this coming. Not even if they heard the announcement from Hideo Kojima that Metal Gear Solid 4 was never being ported to Xbox 360. Anyone that could have predicted this would have to be psychic.

Why konami can't just compress the sound/soundtrack i will never know.
rather than having full 7.1 sound, most people don't have 7.1 systems, let alone a 5.1,and would still play MGS4.
They could compress to a lossless codec (WMA/FLAC) and save lots of disc space, also scale down the resolution to a max of 1280x720, even on PC games i've never gone higher than 1024x768.
Also using lossless compression compared to uncompressed instantly shaves gigabytes off your originals.
Best of all lossless codecs also support AC3 formats.

As stated above the question isn't will it be coming to the xbox 360, it is whether or not it will work on the 360. And all signs point to no, let me explain. Not only is the game 50 gb it is also coded differently see the in order to make xbox game you need to program with a language that is c++ related it is also the reason why a lot of the 360 games you see is also on the pc. Mean while the ps3 is lenux base. If it were to be put on the 360 it will need to be rewritten making what would be a 5 disks game in to say 11 disk with the c++ converion now that is unheard of.

However the 360 may see MGS 5. seeing how popular it is then again maybe not seeing how the majority of the fan base is still on the ps3 side of things.

Wow. First off, it's called "Linux". Secondly, that's not the difference, the difference is that the Xbox 360 uses a different processor architecture than the Ps3 (x86 vs Power PC if i'm not mistaken).

And if you're trying to tell me that there is no C++ compiler for a power PC based processor... I'm just going to sulk my head and walk away.

Surprised? Not terribly. I kinda guessed it was gonna happen back when MGS4 was announced. I didn't expect such a long separation release dates, but I suppose in hindsight it was to keep PS3 'fanboys' happy. Not a bad plan on the whole.

Maybe they'll ship with a ZoE3 demo (Pretty please Kojima? I'll be your friend!) like they shipped ZoE1 with an MGS2 demo.

From what I understand the resurrection of this rumor seems to stem from some dork using google translation as a news source instead of finding an actual human being to translate the article. This sounds like the rumor a while back quoting another unnamed Konami source as saying that MGS4 could possibly end up on the 360.

Ironically his game being ported would just solidify the 360 as nothing more than a bootleg ps3. Kind of like one of those fake consoles you can pick up in China for example. It's kind of annoying to see so many "me too" releases from Microsoft. Why should I even bother with your console if I can get the same games on a system less likely to fail on me?

Way to miss the point, I'm trying to make a point about brand identity and the fact that this "me too" business is just highlighting all the weaknesses of the system. I already have a 360 and it's been steadily pissing me off how every other "major announcement" from Microsoft is either some game that the other guy has already, or some weird amalgum of some features that another company already did without even improving on the older idea, or an admission that they fucked up by not including some feature that the other company managed to include out of the box.

I just want to find whoever holds the games division purse strings and tell the dumb bastard to buy more fucking real exclusives and to stop selling that useless arcade unit, it's not right to treat consumers like suckers.

360 owners who want MGS4-no, any PS3 exclusive on the 360 are. Fucking. Hipocrites.

I'm sure many of you people who do not own a PS3 have said it before;
"The Ps3 has no good games"/"Doesn't have any games"/"Does have enough good games for me to warrent a purchase."

However, MGS4, which allegedly is one of the "few good PS3 exclusives along with Resistance/Uncharted/Ratchet and Clank", and what do you people (360 owners who want the game) say?

"I want MGS4 on the 360! Wah wah wah!!"

Hello people? Isn't MGS4 a reason for you to get the freakin' PS3? You said it yourself (not all of you) "Ps3 has no good games" and along comes MGS4 which is a good game and you guys are to cheap to get a Ps3 for it.

I get it, PS3s can be expensive, yada yada yada, but if you don't have the hardware don't bother.

If Mgs4 does come on the 360, I will not be surprised. I will just groan at all the people who will say "You've just lost your only good exclusive!" (still hipocrasy). Konami can do whatever they want with it, and taht includes porting it.

But in all honesty, I can not see how MGs4 will sell that well on the 360. The original MGS came on XBLA and it sold horribly. MGS2 was also on the Xbox but that sold horribly to.

So I don't know what's going to happen, but either way we'll hear fanboys groaning.

Get the hardware, or piss off.

Sony can lower the price tag by a couple hundred and officially end their arrogant stance in the videogame industry. Yes, the technology might be well worth it however America, Europe, and Asian markets aren't doing well (Okay, according to CNN for the later two...) and I for one think Sony needs to bite the bullet and just lower the freaking price tags.
It's their billions, they can save what they can.

They are lowering the price to 350 this holiday season.

Everyone's going to complain anyway. Seriously they've lowered the price like, 4 times. Given different SKU's, etc. - everyone just wants something for nothing.

Plus, what you said is WAY easier said than done.
