Just because Activision failed with ONE game does not excuse anyone of bitching about them...***** about Kotick on the other hand, and i will let you off...
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (Released prematurely)
Guitar Hero franchise (Milked to death with no end in sight)
Call of Duty franchise (Milked to death with no end in sight)

They don't use their studios to their full advantage, and instead rely on rehashing the same IPs again and again or driving other ones into the ground. Yeah, they had War of Cybertron or whatever it was, but they don't really add anything to the gaming market beyond sequels and, well, utter tripe.

Oh dear. How much over-zealous hatred can we fit on one event?
Yeah, geez guys. You do realize that no-one forces you to play COD or listen to Metallica, so no need to get angry.....

... I mean its not like its U2 playing, then that would really piss me off!!

The event will be a tribute to all six branches of the U.S. military...
Dude there are only 5 branches of the United States Military, the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corp, and Coast Guard.
I was thinking the same thing. I read through the comments to see if there was a magical branch I had missed. Is the 6th branch like the M.I.B. or something?
It's the secret branch, like the secret levels games used to have.

Agreed. And if you've ever met them in person, they're not the pompous dick-head media whores that most celebrities are. They're quite approachable and easy to talk to. Also, Lars is incredibly short.

I agree!

I have a right to steal their music.
It wasn't what they said (about Napster) but rather how they said it, they acted like a bunch of jerks with sticks up their asses.
I disagree, they were losing millions of dollars, and so were other artists. Metallica was the first group that actually had the balls to do something about it. They won the lawsuit because what Napster was doing was completely illegal. If you spent 20 years clawing your way from the bottom of the barrel to the band with the 7th most albums sold of all time, you'd be pretty pissed too if millions of people started getting all of your life's work for free.

Yes they are quite decent guys hence the crap-load of charity concerts they do, the media just made them look like dicks because they didn't want to see 20 years of their life's work flushed down the toilet because now they can get it for free. That would piss off anybody else just as much.

Might want to keep "One" and "Disposable Heroes" off the set list.
Haha, I have a feeling those two are the ones they are going to be rocking last and hardest, despite their unglorifying-of-war stance. (yes there's a better word for it but I'm kinda exhausted)

even how Metallica hasn't been cool since 1998
I thought they went a long way towards redeeming themselves with Death Magnetic in '08, and the concert I attended last year was absolutely fantastic.

So I disagree. Metallica is cool again. It's all in personal opinion, of course.

Pfffffff Metallica. Turn back time 25 years however...
Err, I take it from your username that you like Megadeth? Hypocritical, much? Megadeth hasn't been good since Countdown to Extinction.

It's all in personal taste, mate.
Couldn't agree more. Death Magnetic was awesome and they were awesome in a concert I saw last year too. I'm on the Metallica mailing list and they are merchandise whores but their music is still awesome. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year for God's sake. They had three bad albums between The Black Album and Death Magnetic and even Load and Reload had a couple of good songs each (St.Anger was complete crap). There isn't a bad in history that never made a bad album. They tried some new things, it didn't work so they went back to their tried and true formula. It's called mixing things up. It's certainly better than doing the same old thing and having every album sound the same, which many many bands are accused of. The FACT is that Metallica are legends whether you personally like them or not.

I pretty sure Lars hates Lars with a passion too.
