Really guys? I know this guy was a dick towards gamers but it's not like he actually wanted to ban all games, and I'm sure there's more problems in AU than a bunch of people not being able to play a game filled with blood and sex. I do hope AU gamers get their 18+ rating but goodness people, we can party when Uwe Boll stops making movies based on games or, highly unlikely, he makes a GOOD movie based on a game.

Atkinson will stay in parliament until the next election in 2014

He stepped down but he's still there till 2014 and if I'm not mistaken the big vote for an R18+ rating is sooner than that. So the evil old bastard can still block it.

OT: Too bad it's not immediate. He still has 4 years or so to ruin Austrailia.

You guys need to read more carefully. Yes Atkinson is remaining in Parliament until 2014, but as a backbencher. He has resigned from his Attorney-General position meaning he no longer has any say whatsoever on the R18 rating debate.

I can't wait until April to find out if we do get that R rating finally. I've already got massive freedom of speech party plans. Now we just need to topple Stephen Conroy, and Australia can regain its status as a brilliant country.
