Sorry, it just bugs me when I hear the XBox One's ability to share games with other people as some sort of new feature, and not something I've been doing all my life.

It's one thing for a company to have consumers by the balls. It's another thing entirely when they just think they do. It gives us a neat window into that kind of thinking.

Worse, it's sort of like they can't decide. Like, the "it's totally a good value" comes off as hedging from a group who's been all "hahaha yeah. Where you gonna go, bro? Sony? No way, bro. You're not gonna go to Sony. Get real, bro! You're gonna be back wanting allllll this...."

Seriously, this is happening so often now... It's damn near comical, and would be if it wasn't telling of how far up their own ass Microsoft is. Of course, most of their statements are coming through Matty here, so it could be that he's just really bad at talking to people. Or hell, could be both. Probably both.

EDIT: Just realized thanks to that link that Sony, which failed at start last gen because of the price point, have not actually upped their out-of-the-gate console price. Just find it ironic that Sony kept its price point the same, and Microsoft jumped up $300 extra. Hmmm...

Is this the result of the madness that comes from knowing that you are absolutely going to be fired from your dream job, but that they can't do it while you are still publicly visible in the press for fear of even further poisoning the new product rollout? I read the title of this article and thought "Over-deliver? Only a complete hack would make that sort of statement. I wonder if Don Mattrick has anything to do with this..."

Since the price is lower than what some analysts predicted, it must mean there's a lot of value! Either Microsoft's PR people are cluelessly digging a deeper hole for themselves or they're frantically trying to dig up out of this mess to no avail. Either way, it's getting pretty painful to watch.

It could be they have dug so deep they have forgotten which way is up. The way things are going it seems quite likely.

I would say it's more a curse. Neither Nintendo nor Sega were being arrogant about their systems. Well, I guess I can't say for certain on the Saturn; though it's always been my understanding that it's failing was more in the system just being completely unspectacular than in Sega doing something because they felt infallible. As for the N64, Nintendo wasn't really being arrogant by sticking to cartridges, they just weren't convinced by discs yet.
