You also can play the Move sitting down....to me that's worth more than the difference between.
I was going to replace my dead Xbox with a slim and Kinect, for my girlfriend, but the 4gig is too small, so I convinced her she can use the Move too! So Microsoft lost a sale on the HD from me.

There's also the fact that Kinect is maximum two player max...I'm not sure about the Wii, but is a two player party game really a party game?

Wii Fit isn't generally needed for playing the Wii, so it shouldn't really be there and I noticed that Microsoft "failed" to take into account the price of about $60 for using the 360's online services, so if you now take a look at the pricing...oh look at that! The 360 isn't the cheapest anymore, I'm genuinely suprised!

This chart is so flawed that Microsoft strongly deserves this:

A... 4GB... hardrive...

I'm sorry, I can't hear Microsoft here in the generation where you wouldn't even be able to install your games (something praised by Microsoft with the newer XBoxes). Seriously, that comparison becomes bull once you look at that bundle.

But whatever. All I know is that I won't even be looking at getting Kinect until some better looking games are announced.
If you look at the fact that Microsoft streams videos without using storage space; lets you redownload all your licensed content, including video (which Sony does not); and doesn't force you to install games... it makes a lot more sense. But I would still struggle to get by on 4GB. I'd just pop in one of the 20 usb sticks and be done with it.
i have a 20 gig and it hard for me to get by unlike my terabyte ps3 which is half full

I can see why Microsoft would put this up but it just is going to incite people (like us) to point out the flaws in their pricing.

This also proves further that the Kinect is solely aimed towards "casual" gamers. Microsoft included the Balance Board in the Wii's price point knowing full well that there are no "hardcore" games that use the Balance Board.

This price chart was DEFINITELY meant for the eyes of casual gamers.

As others have said, take out the $100 balance board and the Wii is cheaper. Since only a few games use the balance board, it is mostly unneeded and shouldn't be on there.

I love Microsoft's ads, I really do. They're like Apple, except Apple sells to people who will buy anything from them. Most gamers have some general knowledge about all the consoles, and 'casual gamers' aren't going to buy this because they're still pissed at Microsoft for Vista (no kidding, I was having this conversation just the other day with someone who had obviously never used it) or RRoDs (One of my friends is on their 4th Xbox).

The truth is that for casuals 1 console is enough so why buy a new console if you can spend that $300 on more Wii games like mario, DK, zelda, kirby, etc which are actually GOOD GAMES.
If your more hardcore then you want better games then the kinect lineup which is very much shovelware crap. The move does have some hardcore style games like socom and you can use buttons with the move unlike kinect.
I love how they throw in the Wii fit board to jack up the Nintendo price comparison.

So in other words, they're saying Kinect is the cheapest option specifically for people who have yet to buy any system. Like you know, all the casual gamers that have been holding out on jumping on the Wii bandwagon these past 4 (or is it 5?) now have a cheaper option for them... assuming a new Wii buyer wants a wii fit board too, or a new PS3 buyer wants extra contollers. Good job Microsoft!

This is pretty much what I've been saying all along. $150 for the Kinect only seems like a lot when you don't look at it in comparison to it's competition. Now, that doesn't mean I want to buy it and I'm still not sure how many people will want to buy it, hardcore or not, but the pricing does make sense. Also, initial thoughts were that the Kinect wouldn't even come with a game and now we know it does so it makes the pricing even more solid.

Unneeded? Yes absolutely, but it does provide the most direct comparison to what the Kinect offers (full body motion control).

I find it funny about all the people in here claiming MS is biased or whatnot... Like it or not, MS is right. If you plan to buy enough controllers for your Wii or PS3 for people to play multiplayer, buying all of those extra controllers is more expensive than buying just one Kinect unit.

If you're just buying enough for one person, that's different. But two or more and bam, suddenly Wii and Move are pretty expensive too. It's basic math people!

I didn't see any blatant bashing of the competition or false advertising* in MS's ad. Just basic math. How are their ads like Apple?

*How many times are they going to show me a BS iPhone 4 ad with people holding in their left hands and not having their signal go to crap which is what happens on the real iPhone 4?

THe major problem with this formula is though...no one is going to look at it that way.

People will just look at the device itself, and, like me will be "Eh, no thanks!"

Microsoft does have a point but there's one very important fact missing from their argument. If I want to get a Kinect, I HAVE to spend $150 regardless of whether I want to play with one player or two players and it doesn't matter what games I'm playing. With the Wii or the PS3, I only have to buy what I need. It doesn't have to cost me the maximum amount that I can spend in order to get what I need out of the Move or the Wii. I'll be more than happy for a while to use my controller as the navigation and to not play multiplayer. As time goes on, I might add to that but that's much more affordable and in general, a better business model than "buy it all now." Spend more money over more time is much more appealling to most consumers, especially at Christmas time when Kinect and Move will be going on sale.

Every retail flyer in the universe is going to read:

Move = $50
Kinect $150

That is what people are going to see.

And then they're going to go buy a wii anyhow, because that's what they've heard about from all their kids' friends' moms.

This pretty much sums up the events of the future.

Also bearing in mind the fact this price gap is largely because the 360's Kinect using no controllers, which on it's own means the games will be quite a wreck, but also bearing in mind that NO conventional 360 games will be playable.

So if you want an Xbox 360 you can't play games on, there you go.

Convincing press releases aside $150 still "looks" expensive for what you are getting. Most of us were expecting Kinect to be about $100.

There are no charts in the world that could make me buy Wii Fit, or Playstation Move, or Kinect. Thanks for trying, Microsoft.

Umm...hey, MS, you do know that there are almost no games that use the Wii Balance Board, right? If you take away that, you remove $100 dollars, which means that the Wii is the cheapest of all the consoles by a long shot.
