This is starting to turn to Parody really quickly. Microsoft needs to stop digging the hole their under or else the fallout of this thing is gonna be even worse then when this thing comes out and crashes and burns. They have become some twisted joke of how we envision Corporate America.
On the bright side, when Americans ask why us foreigners don't like their country or what they stand for we can point to Microsoft and say "Pretty much that". Thankyou M$ for being the symbol of corporate America :)

Like it or not those so-called dude bros are bringing in piles of money to support your hobby, so perhaps acting like a jackass to them isn't the best course of action.
These dude bros are not supporting our hobby they are ruining it by swallowing every coolaid that the industry puts infront of them.

All the negative sides of the xbone can be attributed to mindless and uninformed consumerism.. you know.. just what those so called "dudebros" do.

Also we should be thankfull for to them for only buying CoD BF and EA sports games?

Sorry to burst your bubble but dudebros are the problem here not the solution.
Sorry to burst your bubble but these guys are supporting your hobby, plenty of development studios make their bankroll off those who are only interested in buying the next COD/BF or Sports games. Wana take a few guesses as to where Destiny, Mirrors Edge, Battlefront 3 and Countless other games incentive publisher money comes from??? Mobile games, and sports games.

Complain all you want about how some guy enjoying his favorite title, that you don't find appealing is running the industry, but its just uninformed bigotry.

These dudebros as you call them are running the industry? sorry but as someone who's worked with developers and has worked with these dudebros I actually see them dump money into an industry that might not survive without them, I've yet to actually come across a dudebro that dost play COD; as well as fanatically support nintendo products, or delve deeper into some of the other aspects associated with the supposed "hard core" gamer.

Also take a little moment to put your critical reading hat on and look a little closer at my OP notice it says nothing of microsoft, or X1.

Soo... Would you kindly take your bigotry and stereotypical disgusting attitude and GTFO.
lol okay, gaming would have totally died out by now were it not for the dudebros shovelling money into whatever games have a soldier on the front cover surrounded by dust and military hardware...what, where am I? Oh I just passed out from laughing.

The video game industry isn't going anywhere, it will always re-incarnate in one form or another; the only thing these dudebro chaps are doing by continuing to make CoD a best-seller is perpetuating the regurgitation of stale ideas in the industry and encouraging publishers to eschew fresh and interesting concepts in favour of either sticking with what has been proven to make money or copying whatever does.

So, would you kindly drop your pretentious attitude and stop being so hostile to other users.

perhaps I didn't say it in the best words, but the sentiment is that many of the games that we really want are clearly being funded through, Sports, COD/ Battlefield, and mobile games. I in no way meant to imply that gaming was otherwise dead, only that many of the games we would like more of would be dead. Pretty sure I'd be seeking employment in other fields if I was foolish enough to think gaming is dying.

"the only thing these dudebro chaps are doing by continuing to make CoD a best-seller is perpetuating the regurgitation of stale ideas"
O boo hoo lots of people enjoy a game I don't like and it sells well, theres always going to be a popular game the masses like that others think is garbage.

"So, would you kindly drop your pretentious attitude and stop being so hostile to other users."

No absolutely not, at least in this case. This attitude to other gamers is offensive and disgusting. They enjoy their games I enjoy mine there is absolutely no reason for this other then I don't like it and it involves my hobby. Dudebros ruining my gaming is the same attitude as female gamers ruin my hobby, people enjoying their facebook games ruin my triple A games, and ultimately devolves into, group X is there for lesser to me arbitrarily therefore I shall assert my superiority.

It feels like Xbox is in panic mode before my eyes. Look how weary and frustrated he sounds. How he lets that slip with that borderline snippy, unprofessional tone and listen for the shocked "Stick with 360?" reaction of the interview. There's a half second hesitation where you can just feel what an awful mistake they've made. Wow.

True, same issue in Canada too. Large parts are dial up, or spotty cell phone internet, and satellite internet. I'm lucky enough to have a fast stable connection. I pity the poor folks in australia with absolute horrible shitty spotty internet, obviously not a Xbone friendly country.

I really hope the EU does something drastic to MS, faint hope though.

At this point, José the janitor would do a better job.

Oi, we actually do have good high speed connection (here in Australia), atleast some of us..... The NBN will help abit too, but regardless the XBone isn't even for those with perfect connection since once its servers are off so is your system :-/

Hold on a second there Microsoft. Are you saying that Xbox 360 is the only offline device I can use instead of Xbone? I can think of a few more. PC, PS3, Wii U and...

...wait for it...

PlayStation 4!
Not to mention all those nice and powerful tablets and smart phones that have been coming out, granted not the perfect choice for 'core' gamers but considering the market they seem to be aiming for they'd probably be competing alot more than say the PS4 and PC will.....

That's smart; attempt to get into the 7th gen gaming race...but encourage people to STILL get your old console.
INSTEAD of your new one.

When failing to make a case for why people need the upgrade.
Why not? M$ are probably past the point where they profit on the hardware now, the Xbone will cost them money for every sale. M$ will still get Xbox Live fees and licencing fees for every game sold, the 360 will remain profitable for a while yet so why not encourage people to buy one?

I swear to god, this guy must be being hired by Sony and been planted in Microsoft. There's no way someone can be as stupid as he's been recently without some sort of ulterior motive behind it.

Way to tell the roughly 30 million people with a 360 that's not connected to go fuck themselves.

Prick.

I never said I didn't like games like CoD. Actually, I don't like games like CoD, but I do like CoD; the games in question aren't the point, here, but the people who will mindlessly buy them just because they have a franchise name stamped on them.

And this trickle down economics you seem to imply exists --suggesting that the sale of these games funds more interesting ones-- would maybe hold some weight if we weren't constantly seeing original series like Dead Space and Lost Planet being gutted of all their personality so they can be more like 'what's selling' and then shot in the back of the head when they fail to meet impossible sales targets.

Best case scenario: these series end up being butchered into the same homogenous slop as everything else because it's easier to sell and less of a financial risk.

And you want me to be happy about this? Thankful, even?

No, the attitude to girl gamers is stupid because having a vagina doesn't automatically dictate what kinds of games you like to play; a woman will never threaten my hobby by wanting to be a part of it. If girl gamers were demanding that all games be pink and about unicorns and rainbows then you might have had a point, except it wouldn't make a difference because developers refuse to accept that girls make up a huge portion of the gaming population because, well whaddya know, they are busy exclusively catering to the CoD-gargling masses.

No, unlike girl gamers, dudebros are ruining the industry by only throwing their money at the same shit over and over again and stifling creativity. It's the reason we have umpteen Halo and CoD games, despite them all playing exactly the same as the last, and hardly any new IP in the mainstream to speak of (none that hasn't been killed off, or is soon to be, anyway).

It's the exact same way that idiots have ruined the landscape of television by making it clear they'd rather watch nothing but reality TV following the lives of talentless fuckwits rather than quality programming that actually challenges the viewer and makes them think.

We live in a culture now where money is the single defining factor in any business decision --not customer satisfaction, not creative integrity, not quality products-- and the Xbone is pretty much the perfect embodiment of that capitalistic apex.

"they're opinionated and they're smart"
He must be either really stupid if he truly believes that and then goes on to spout his bullshit or he is a terribly bad liar. In either case he shouldn't represent a big company.

Still like to see what german authorities will do to the xbone.
I can assure you that nothing is going to happen.
While Germany is probably more conscious than most other countries about data privacy, it is the same in the respect that it's all just talk and that there are no consequences.

Though this comes off as super arrogant, I get what he's trying to say. The 360 is a great console, and they're releasing a new one, so they're obviously still intending to support it for some time. Microsoft is really trying to get people to get behind this cloud idea, and though I'm still skeptical, I honestly hope in the end I can go "yeah, I see why they've done this." Their stance might just be too firm, but I understand what they're trying to do here.

I think he basically said people should just stick with the 360 because the only thing the one offers is making you be online all the time. Fine by me. Does this guy really not hear himself because everything that's been said since the one's announcement has shunned more and more gamers. At least Sony seems to still give a damn about the consumer (or at least has realised giving us what we want is better for them than pissing us all off).

See, I thought the Xbone was already beginning to win some ground again with it's fairly strong exclusives and the backlash to the backlash... but no Microsofts solution is to be a dick again.

You know what other console doesn't require online access and has the newest games unlike the 360...

Wait, did M$ just hire Terry Fuckwit to run PR or something? Well you know what Mr Meatdick? i'll just take your advice and not bother with the Xbone. Strangely enough though i'll be buying a PS4 and Wii U to use instead, and you can also kiss goodbye to my Xbox live subscription also mr Meatdick i doubt i'm the only one who thinks this way so keep it up if you actually Want to lose more customers.

Honestly, M$ should just sack this Assclown before he sets the office on fire or gets caught having sex with a parking meter

While I agree with the vast majority of complaints people have, I do find it kind of irksome knowing that despite all of this outrage, a significant proportion of the complainers will still buy one, including the content creators for a lot of gaming sites who are also saying it's a load of crap.

It will be like the L4D2/MW2 boycotts all over again, when loads of people complained, but then their steam profiles showed they bought it anyway:
