Also, with the Master Chief and Cortana drifting to an unknown planet (according to the after credits bit on Legendary), there has been fan speculation that the planet may well be Onyx (a place featured heavily in the novel Ghosts of Onyx, set during the events of Halo 3). Have Bungie or Microsoft released any information yet regarding that?
Who knows?
Maybe he found the Forerunner planet and he's now living like a god as their "Reclaimer."
That would be interesting, but sadly that isn't possible. The Forerunners were wiped out, they built the planet Onyx as well as several others (as yet unseen) as shield bunkers where they could hide and be unaffected by the Halo's blast across the galaxy. They would then return when the Flood died from starvation. However, they never used the shields, as the Flood got to them before they could reach those planets. This is revealed in the Terminals found in Halo 3, as well as the novel Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. The reason humans are seen as the Reclaimers and the descendants of the Forerunners is because they were seded with the Forerunner's genes and blessings when the Halo rings were first fired. They were protected by the fact that Africa is regarded as the cradle of human civilisation, theyw ere moved to the Ark (another shield) for a short time by the Didact (the last surviving Forerunner, she died of old age shortly after the Halo Array was fired).

Yes, I like Halo a lot. Obvious, right?
Wow...thanks for the clarification, mate.
I'm not nearly as caught up on the whole Forerunner lore as I'd like to be, which is a shame because it's paramount to know the events that occurred thousands of years before the events of Halo to set up the conflict you play through.
I used to like to think, after the Monitor's last, crazed spiel, that Humanity itself was actually the Forerunners...which brings the whole underlying mystery of the series to a kind of shocking, but satisfying end in a cyclical kind of way...at least to me.
Also, thanks, you saved me the trouble of reading Ghosts of Onyx...now for that Contact Harvest book and the Halo graphic novel...

Master Chief Versus Captain Price.

They should make that game.
That's spite. Captain Price would Annihilate him, after all, he's British and ruthless, MC doesn't stand a chance.

Worse than MC vs Samus ;¬)
