Lets take a looksie here. We've got the story of Zuka Zammane, the Elite from Halo 1. We've also got the story of the Arbiter. We've got the stories of the 2 elites that are in the Halo 3 4 player co-op, and we've also got the story of Rtas Vadum/Halfjaw.

Then we've got the stories of Sgt. Johnson, the Marines in Halo 1 as they defend and search for other marines. Other Spartans in Prequels such as Kurt. Sgt. Forge from Halo Wars, and not to mention Master Chiefs backstory.

We've got all this left unexplored, and nobody even seems the tiniest bit interested.

Master Chief versus Captain Planet it could be the Epic Battle of Gay.
Captain Planet would win, and make a terrible pun as he does so. Something along the lines of "Master this!" or "Hail to the Chief!"

"Fail to the Chief!"
"Halo, and goodbye!"
"Looks like you're caught up in a Flood!"

Didact (the last surviving Forerunner, she died of old age shortly after the Halo Array was fired).

Yes, I like Halo a lot. Obvious, right?
Didact (just Didact, it's a name) was a male. His love interest the Librarian (a female) died on Earth soon after sending a bunch of humans through the portal.

Didact probably wasn't the last (just one of the last) as any Forerunner on the Ark would have survived. He also says something about going to sleep, in fact it's entirely possible that he was alive in stasis when Master Chief activated Halo.

Here's a good read on the subject. [http://blog.ascendantjustice.com/halo-3/the-terminals/shediedineden0/]

Yeah, I knew I'd made a mistake somewhere but I couldn't pinpoit where. I just got the names mixed up. The Librarian was the female, Didact's lover, and she built the Ark near what would become New Mombasa thousands of years later. However, despite what has been said in your link, I can definitely tell you for a fact that the Libararian was the only surviving Forerunner during the Forerunner-Flood War, and she died on Earth after sending the humans through the portal in the Ark (so you were right about that). However, there were no other Forerunner on the Ark at the time that the rings were fired, and it's definitely true that no Forerunner managed to enter any of the Shields, including Onyx, so there were no Forerunner survivors, but their seed passed down through humanity enough that humans are the 'Children of the Forerunner', as stated by the Hierarchs and the Monitor on various occasions. What Didact said about going to sleep may well have simply referred to his death due to the firing of the Array. People often refer to death as like 'going to sleep', and the Array could have various ways of killing sentient life (it only affects sentient life, after all, and we never find out exactly how it works).

Man, what did Master Chief do in a past life, molest children? Seems he's doomed to a fate worse than death: a thousand sub-par sequels.

I've made comments on this before. The best way to do it is let at least a decade pass and then come out with Halo 4. It would need to be a return to the original game's gameplay, it needs to be more of a survival-horror game than the first three, and it needs to be the ab-so-lute LAST thing to do with Halo ever.

The ideal Halo 4 would have the feel and atmosphere of the first, the superior (over, in my opinion, all shooters) game-play of Halo 2, and the range of weapons in Halo 3. It would be incredibly long and epic, while still managing to stay fresh throughout and stay well away from becoming boring.

It would also need just the right amount of hype: not too much, just enough to get people excited. The ad campaign will need to create anticipation and high expectations, then the game needs to live up to that. I think the best way to go about the early campaign would be to release a trailer that's all darkness and flashes of pain and death. We hear men screaming and dying, in agony and terror. The trailer ends with that. A few weeks later, we see the same trailer again, only this time, at the end, we here the trademark orchestral music of Halo, and see the logo fade into view with the number 4 inside.

The record isn't comprehensive, all that's there is Didact's diary and his conversations with the Librarian.

Since we do know that the Librarian was rescuing primitive sentients by sending them to the Ark I assume that a number of Forerunners were on the Ark managing their populations and sending them back after the Array was fired. Didact never says he is the only one left so others surviving can't be ruled out.

It's all vague and mysterious. We need more Halo to get the story straight.

Translation: Nah, we were fucking with you with that ending. We're going to milk the shit out of Halo and the character so much that fanboys will still weep and buy our shit. Soo..... yeah, we're doing a Sonic team.

And just when I thought the series was never going to die with the recent release, and my subsequent "Play-the-living-shit" out of Halo Wars. *sigh*

I'll leave my own opinions of this particular franchise out of this.

In general, I wonder if publishers and developers really intend to have n sequels before they put the good ol' bullet between the peepers and lay it to rest. Leave them wanting more, rather than have the fans get disgusted at the mere idea of yet ANOTHER sequel.

I actually forgot there was a Halo 3. I don't own an Xbox of any type so perhaps I am out of the loop. Now we have ads for Halo Wars on the Escapist site, and I say to that, "meh."

I can't believe I'm the first person to point this out, but there aren't any air units in the third mission. It's underground, remember? Perhaps you mean the fourth, where the banshees are easy to take out with your hornets. Park them between ship 1&2 and move them when you need them.
most people (including me) dont care if i get the number right and i just used wolverines ro whatever their anti air unit is

They're never going to be done with MC. He's going to be squeezed to death just like Sonic.

*weary sigh*
They won't do a Sonic with the Master Chief, because with Halo Bungie and Microsoft have stated at various times that they have fleshed out a proper expanded universe and know exactly what they are doing. You still get logistical problems, of course (look at the Duke Nukem Forever style delays in the comic series Halo Uprising...), but the story of Halo has been stated as being a very much controlled thing and something that nobody at Bungie or Microsoft want to see outstay it's welcome. They'll keep releasing new content and media for Halo as long as they still have a story to tell and the fans keep on supporting the series, but the series isn't only about the Master Chief. With Halo Uprising, the lack of Master Chief was a major criticism of fans and critics alike, but the series has generally been praised for focusing on other characters outside the games (half the novels don't even include a mention of the Master Chief at all, and one doesn't even include any Spartans...). Basically, I think we're safe with Halo for now.

Now if only someone would say something about whether or not we'll ever see Sgt. Johnson [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Halo_characters#Avery_Johnson] again.
Avery J. Johnson still has quite a bit of backstory to look at, but we saw a lot more about him in the prequel novel Contact Harvest, which keen-eyed fans will notice is set on the same planet as (albeit 6 years prior to) Halo Wars. It's hinted at, but never explicitly stated, that he was a Spartan in a project (Project Orion) designed to be a precursor to the Spartans that the Master Chief is a part of. That is, while the Master Chief is a Spartan-II, Sgt. Johnson is a Spartan-I. However, I agree that I'd quite like to see more of him in the future. More prequels maybe, after
his untimely death by Sparkey near the end of Halo 3.
Sorry but you are quite wrong there. Johnson is just a normal soldier....and a hardcore on at that. He was not nor will he ever be a spartan.
