DDoS because of him Makeing a big update for the end of the month? god these guys are just ass holes, if you think about it cutting off the servers from him would just mean that no update EVER could be uploaded so they are just stopping what they want.

Plus why are they complaing about a game in Alpha for not haveing a update for a week or 2. plus who do they think they are, just because they bought it what gives them the thought that they can just rage and shutdown the servers, if they hate it that much why not just not play

So, they're angry that Notch isn't updating enough? And to speed up his work process they fucking crash his servers? What a bunch of idiots. He has a lot on his plate right now, he's making enough money as is to live the rest of his life off of.

So be grateful, he could just abandon it now and walk away a millionaire.

He's setting up a new company! Who could possibly expect him to be regularly releasing updates on top of that and developing a major, previously announced patch.

Funfact: Roblox was actually around for much longer than Minecraft (Just to get a specific date, I looked it up and it's 2005). So. To go out of their way to mention that and refer to it as a minecraft clone says one of two things about them.

1. They are lying and have nothing to do with what happened to minecraft (this is highly possible anyway)
2. They aren't too bright. (Come to think of it, this is also highly possible).

Yeah...

You're just a bunch of dicks.
I can't believe these people. That's some of the craziest logic I've ever heard. It's like punching your baker because he isn't making your cake fast enough.
I was going to make a snarky comment along these lines, but I think yours was better.

McPersson should take Minecraft offline for a few days and claim that the attacks made it FUBAR somehow. Myabe that would teach these dick holes.

So a bunch of little cock mongers think that paying 10 dollars for a game entitles them to hundreds of dollars in returns?

Yeah, I hope these fools get caught and get charged criminally.

I can't stand customers, I love people, but I can't stand customers.

Edit: am I allowed to call people who vandalize property cock mongers? I'm not sure if that's too much on these forums? If so, someone tell me and I'll change it to something like "douchebags".

Didn't you read it?

They haven't been on 4chan for several years, or the real 4channers.

It's mostly new ones.

Let me get this straight, they want more updates so they DDoS the servers. Do they not know about the huge Halloween update coming out on 10/31/10? But wouldn't flooding the servers DELAY any updates he was making? I could imagine what they were thinking, I bet it was something like this " OMG GAIS NOTCH ISNT MAKING MORE UPDATES SO LETS FLOOD THE SERVER!!!!1".

Damn it 4chan.

I hope he shuts down Minecraft completely for a while.

Don't like the rate I update so much you're willing to attack me?

Fine, you get NOTHING you ungrateful little shits.

Oh darn, all those bots you have to crash my servers don't have anything to crash now do they.
if he did that they would go after him personally with their 80k bots, would you really wish that on him.
Unfortunately, you're right. They've got his scent now, they won't leave him alone. Honestly though, I'd be disappointed to lose contact with Minecraft if he took down the servers, but I would understand that he needed to make his point to these assholes.
yea but I think hes just going to hope that they go away, annons generally have an attention span of 4 seconds and thell probibly just end up using all those bots on the RIAA,MPAA and all those other companys their at war with now.

The only thing that confuses be is how these group of particurly stupid morons got a hold of a bot net this large and why law enforcment seems to fail at aphending even the dumbest of hackers.
The system must have some holes in it. The tech. is still relatively new.

Minecraft is currently experiencing a stimulation provided by us.

It's purpose is to send Notch a clear message of how the future of minecraft will turn out unless he gets to work, namely by influencing the amount of sales taking place, due to the attacks.

Start providing your customers with the updates that you promise them.

We have roughly 83,000 bots available, and preserved for this seizure, we could if we wanted to keep this going for weeks, however we have decided to give it a week, and see whether or not your attitude, and commitment will change, we believe it will when money stops rolling in for the time being...

anyhow, no we're not from roblox, or any other minecraft clone, not to mention none of us have been around 4chan for years, and nor has any real 4channers for that matter, its all newfags now, and has been for quite a few years.I think somebodys a little bit jealous of all those sales hes making...

He says "I?ll get back to coding". Seems that the hackers are getting what they wanted.
No they didn't, he was coding before hand. He had to stop coding to work on this problem. What part of "making gigantic Halloween update" do you, and also these attackers, not get? They're not getting what they wanted, they just slowed down what they wanted to happen.
Actually if you look at his twitter he spent the whole day signing papers somewhere. So no, you are wrong, he wasn't coding beforehand. He wouldn't know how to cope with a DDoS attack, he has passed the problem on to someone else. After 2 months of barely any updates it is about time he worked on a "gigantic update" frankly. Hate it or not, doing this is certainly a way for the hackers to get noticed.
