Well that clever. Wounder which will be the next game to have portals? Metroid Portals anyone?
Er, Metroid titles are pretty much never on the PC, so those have no mod dev kit.

OT: Portal 2's SDK is now redundant!

Pshhhhh PC. Please. You dont need a PC to make stuff on a game, you just need inovation and tools.
Console titles having level editors like Forge is very rare and even then they are restricting. Care to point out a single TC mod for a console title? In fact, some engines (like <url=http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/PS3Mods.html>UE3) require a PC to mod console titles. And when did Nintendo release level editors, let alone dev kits, for their games? The only modding of Nintendo titles I've seen so far has been running on emulation.

So yeah, Metroid modding is possible... on the PC.
Brawl a a stage creator. Granted that's basic compared to the pc but people discovered how to create teleporters in that game. And for console creation go check out little big planet. That's right a nintendo gamer just suggested you to play a PS3 game. That is how much I believe consoles are capable of.

I know it's impressive that it doesn't require a mod, but the Portal Gun mod is so much better. I think if you're dedicated enough to playing Minecraft installing a few mods won't kill you.

Still pretty cool though.

The Brawl Stage Builder is very basic, considering all you can do is mess around with existing assets. And you can uploaded only one level daily and they vanish after one day? Seriously? Also, the teleporter you're talking about was simply a <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQiiJd1KQYI>glitch.

And no, I'm not surprised you're bring in an example from the PS3, since you already brought in an example from the Xbox previously. The fact that you're jumping from platform to platform isn't really helping your case. Yes, LBP is a very intelligent game, and I've seen genuinely good content there (including a working ALU someone built). But every time, you're working with preloaded assets and it comes nowhere near dedicated SDKs. Whenever you have to do even basic scripting, you've to go to the PC. I'm not saying that console gamers have limited creativity; what I'm saying is that the nature of consoles are restrictive.

Not to sound like a douche, but there's allready been a more fleshed out and visually accurate portal mod for some time now. Complete with long-fall boots, companion cubes, and the launchers and targets.

EDIT: I appear to have been ninja'd.

Still a impressive mod though. Amazing what this game is capable of.
Sure but this is just a plugin... no client mod required.
Correct. But the full mod seems more worthy of the attention.
Okay, I'm going to update the story!

My comment was not that consoles made it easy to mod, nor that they were better than the PC, All I said was that perhapse a dedicated fan could find a way to put portal in a metriod game.
Here is my final satement

this is a goldeneye rough agent mod

this is metroid for the ds.

if you can mod a game like Goldeneye to be like halo, then you can make portal in metroid. granted How they mod it may involve putting on and off the pc but still it ends up on the ds and that all that matters to me.

Oh dear god, that is absolutely incredible!

I like how they didn't just do a copy pasta from portal either, they actually made it unique!

What? nobody heard of this earlier? My friend showed me this two weeks ago, he even made his own test chambers in minecraft.
A mod that i really want would be a mod for guns, not innacurate bows.

:/ I thought the mod looked incredibly ugly and, ridiculous as it may be to say this in relation to a game revolving around instant teleportation, totally unrealistic. The plug-in might be less "visually accurate", but it looks like something I'd actually consider playing.

EDIT: To clarify, I do like the originally posted plug-in. It's only the 'extensive mod' that looks horrible to me.

This combines two things that I am really sick of hearing about.

I mean, I love Portal 2 as much as the next guy, but the games been out for a while. I'm kind of over it.
