There's this wonderful thing called moderation. It's a neat concept wherein a person can play video games and watch TV, yet still make time for an active lifestyle filled with exercise and other activities. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Equating playing video games and watching TV with laziness shows her ignorance. It's true that kids should be encouraged to be physically active, but taking away video games and TV completely is not necessary. Besides, why should people take parenting advice from Miss America?

So what? I advocate burning down "civilized" society and eliminating billions of lives, because overpopulation is a root cause of nearly every major problem for humanity and the world. If I have to be one of those eliminated so be it.
Easier and less stressfull way of doing it: Release Ebola Zaire Mayinga at a major international airport.

If I remember correctly, you'll then have an airborne virus spreading like the flu, with NO vaxine and a 90% mortality rate. Should do the job of thining the ranks of humanity pretty well I think. Just make sure to let me know before you release it so I can hide in the mountains with plenty of canned food till it's over.

That woman behind her looks like John Cleese, or her face is very squashed. Though, don't listen to this woman children, she's not even that attractive to be Miss America.

Also, where's Mr America? They don't say videogames are bad, because they're bro's.

Eh, just goes to show how hating video games is the fashionable thing now.
In other news people used to treat Literacy the same way.

Funny thing is that theme is actually coming back in the US at least. The whole attack on intellectuality. It is kinda cute.

Well it would be cute if every nation that has ever done it in the past hadn't become impoverished and (most of them) never recovered.

(Some) People tend to forget that education and innovation are the only things that will continually bring in money :p.

Holy Hell! A person with an opinion! Come on now, this isn't news. So what?

I didn't like this, however: "That's right, kids: When all else fails, you can put on a bikini, climb up on a stage and shake your moneymaker for Rush Limbaugh. Dare to dream!"

Who is anyone to discount the dream of another, to acheive what in their mind is their most meritous lifetime acheivement? It just comes off as petty.
So the humor here for me is you are supporting someone's right to an opinion (which was petty), then voicing your opinion (which was not petty), that it is not the right of the author to voice their opinion (which was petty)?

Target A says that Target B's hobby is bullshit.
Target B says that Target A's hobby is bullshit.

I actually think you have a pretty solid case here.

Why should I bother about anything she says? What qualifies her to state anything that is relevant enough to be discussed here?

Listen, I know there are a lot of angry nerds on this web site right now, but she's right. Children need to engage in physical and social play, and video games are getting in the way of that in far too many cases.

Took eight pages, but finally something intelligent is said. Lets step back and get a grip here, kids. Just because she makes the valid point that the US is producing a generation of fat, stupid, self-obsessed, entitled little shits doesn't mean we have to take it personally.

Where did she get that journalism degree? On-line?

And kids have been lazy since the day of Aristotle, who complained about "kids nowadays". After more then 2000 years of moral decline, you'd think we'd have reached the bottom of the lazy disrespectful pit.

You see people this is what we are doing to America. See when she said "playing imaginary games with sticks in the street like I did when I was little." She meant, she didn't like her dinner so she thought she'd play with it instead, (yes I am going this low), look she isn't even hot, (let alone smart). She is uninformed, and you know how women more ugly than she watch this admire her then tell there kids to play outside. This goes nowere and it usually ends in the kid getting hurt, and the mother (cause shes the ONLY one who watches this crap) lets her kid play the xbox again then she doesn't even try to tell him play outside again. Circles, people circles.

So let's see... In a world where women have fought for the rights to get a job, be paid the same wages as a guy, NOT have to be a housewife if they choose not to and to not have to be dolled-up, stick-thin, stay at home mom's (among other things) comes a women whose whole life has revolved around being classed as the prettiest woman around (while talking BS) and will probably never have kids of her own in fear of losing her figure... or the alternate where she gets knocked up by some slob who's just with her for her looks...
And she starts going on about how other people should raise their kids? Kids she doesn't know, doesn't care about and would probably beat with a stick if they came to close to her with grimy hands?

Am I the only one seeing double standards here?

Also, I was pretty much raised on video gaming. I've always been an RPG gamer and, to be honest, I've learned more about emotions and been given more valuable life lessons from them than I have anywhere else in this forsaken life.
