I think that there's now an olympic pole vaulter sending an assassin after you for insulting his $5.000.000 carbon fiber stick.

I find it strange how when a beauty pageant winner says something extremely stupid or controversial it's supposed to be a big deal. They aren't exactly known for their astounding intelligence, and their track record hasn't provided any inclination otherwise.

How wrong is this that I read this as "Miss America Trash", talks video games. Like someone who won the Miss America Trash contest is going to talk about video games with us.

Yeah I'm very tired, too many assignments.

"Don't play video games! Beat each other to death with sticks!"

She isn't even that hot anyway.
"That hot?" She looks like a transgendered Wendy Williams after the Star Jones treatment.

Besides, Miss America has about as much cultural relevance as Playboy, which is to say, close to none. Miss California condemned homosexuality as "perversion" before a half a dozen sex tapes of her showed up on the internet (Carrie Prejean, I think?)

I miss my 90's models. Rebecca Romijn went on to become an actress, and Letitia Casta wrote a book. These bimbos would probably need assistance reading Dean Koontz.

I am 22 yrs old and I can remember playing my mom's NES back when I was 4 or 5 years old. Also I went outside and played but we never hit each other with sticks.

We're all monkeys. Always will be. This is also a time of pollution, war, famine, water shortage, global climate change (don't deny it), and corporate steam rolling of democracy. So... Why is our society superior?
I follow you 100 %. Im just saying most kids ain't fighting with sticks because they have other toys including games. And when she says stuff like that, I find it a little funny and stupid.

If that´s what the models are saying i´ve got even more reason now to mute the tv while i´m watching those contest. (Only watching those contests because of the ocational sexiness, but doesn´t care much for what the paticipants have to say

Miss America, maybe in your little world, the outside world was a safe place to be for children. But here in reality, there are gangs, drug dealers, rapists and all-around psychopaths. And I think the last thing anyone's little girl needs to do is dress up like a doll and parade around on a stage for pedophiles in disguise to stare at.

The Real World: It's not a terrible place; it just has terrible people in it.

Despite having 2 kids of my own I never gave a ton of thought to the whole "go play outside" thing until moving to the Seattle area. With my kids cooped up inside most of the year due to the rain I spend the summers kicking them out into the backyard or out front for bike rides as much as possible. My son's already asking about playing in the kiddie-pool, I have to explain to him that while it may be sunny outside it's still way too cold right now to do so. I think I'll have more trouble getting him to come back inside once summer hits.

"Hi i'm [insert ass-wipe politician or mildly famous celebrity here] i now have an opinion somewhat. I am also a mindless idiot who follows trends so i'm gonna say something that people will listen to because i'm famous"

I thought the anti-video game bandwagon was full by now what with Michael Atkinson and Jack Thompson filling up most of it. Guess they always have room for those looking for their 15 minutes. By the way nice use of the "playing with sticks in the yard" example kids could poke each other's eyes out. But hey real violence must be better than virtual violence
