I meant people should've live their lives using the Bible a guide to the letter. I admit, I misspoke. Or typed or whatever. But that's not the point, because the Bible has exactly nothing to do with this discussion because the Bible ISN'T PORN. It exists for reasons that don't involve sexual gratification.

Holy crap, I just explained the difference between the Bible and porn. You guys are just making fun of me now, right?

Welcome to Missouri - where rape only counts if it's legitimate and you can get federal time for a drawing. Enjoy your stay, and remember - Big Brother is watching.

I have a gif of Mario fucking Peach and every other frame he gets a 1UP. Does that make me a rapist?
What part of my post even remotely implies that?
This part:

Because if he had child porn on his computer, that means he was sexually attracted to children. This goes beyond a weird fetish, it means that there is something very seriously, objectively wrong with him, and it would be best for everyone, including himself, he is "cured"...I'm not exactly sure how effective therapy is with this stuff, but it's better then just letting him be.

I have Mario fucking Peach on my computer but I assure you, I am not interested in rape nor fucking Peach.

Back in the 80's Guns N Roses had a "rape scene" on the inside cover of their first album. It was censored but the first print had it and I had a copy of that print. I even had a poster of it on my wall. Did that make me a rapist? Do writers of horror flicks become serial murderers.
If you were sexually attracted to the IDEA of raping someone, then you would be at greater RISK of becoming a rapist. That's all I'm saying.
So you really are advocating thought policing.

Dude, you're messed up.
So you really are advocating pedophilia. Dude, you are messed up. See how this works?

This is not the same thing as "thought policing". People don't have the inherent right to be mentally unstable. There's a line between "has a creepy fetish" and "risk to society". I don't claim to know where that line is. I'm just saying I know which side pedophilia is on. Please, don't put words out of my mouth.
You do claim to know where that line is, you claim having animated CP on your HDD is crossing that line. You say it's because if it's on the HDD, they must have THOUGHTS of doing it for real and you want them "treated" for it. That's thought policing. You see, you are punishing someone based not on their actions, but on their thoughts. The problem here is that you have no idea what is in their head and what makes this dangerous is the potential for abuse. For example, a cop could walk up to you and accuse of you thinking about attacking him and charging you with assault.

Mentally unstable? Dude, you play video games, how many animated people have you killed? I could easily make a case that you are a risk to society.

I don't think you understand how incredibly broad that line is.
I don't think you understand how incredibly narrow that line is.

See, the thing is...You don't any more then I do. We can both define that line ourselves, I don't think there's enough evidence to actually place it from a totally objective standpoint. Though if you have some evidence about pedophilia being a spectrum, rather then simply black and white, I'd love to hear it. Not being sarcastic. Lots of people are telling me that pedophilia isn't that simple, but nobody seems willing to back up this statement with anything. Makes arguing against it kinda difficult.

Society treats sex crimes worse than murder. It shows you how sick society is.

I feel guilty over the fact that 6 years ago, I supported efforts against cartoon porn, and I was elated over news that some guy got arrested in Australia for possessing Rule 34 of my favorite cartoon.
They're just drawings; images on paper or digital art. My philosophy now is that unless what he was doing was hurting another person, or violating their basic rights, then this charge shouldn't even be considered constitutional. Just because a piece of artwork offends people does not justify charging people for a crime.
Seriously, is the Unites States really that eager to become China? Because that's the impression I'm getting here.

Pedophilia is a fetish. The moment that the practitioner of this fetish exercises it in reality is the moment it should be considered a 'risk to society', but till then it hurts no one but possibly the practitioner him/herself.
The same goes to people who like violent video games and watch violent media, as you're involved in a simulated taboo subject. But so long as you know it's not real, and so long as you have no intention to harm an actual human being, then you've got every right to be involved in such media.

The bible is the nastiest porno I know of. Incest, sexual slavery, Homosexual-mob-rape, cannibalism and finally, torture porn.

So basically what they're saying is anyone who has waxed their carrot to (most) hentai is a dirty paedophile and deserves to be locked up along with the people who actually have gone out and buggered children? Seems legit

Quoting me and replacing a single word to make your point doesn't make you correct.

When you watch violent movies, then daydream yourself as a badass that can break necks - what are actually the chances of you doing that - ever?

There are tons of things to fantasize or indulge yourself on, but they remain thoughts, and have ZERO effect on one's capability to actually attempt anything. This is the whole argument of kids copying Jackass, all over again.

Dude, you *ARE* the thought police.

~and for pedophilia being a spectrum, I noticed you ignored my point about the line between 17 and 18, and whether you're the type that gets revulsed due to that single year of difference, if only to not seem sick. It's not black and white.

Ugh, we're going in circles now.

I want you to read the following statement:

"If you are sexually attracted to children, then there is something objectively wrong with your brain, and it's best for everyone if that problem is fixed."

You're confusing the issue by differentiating between "sexually attracted to children" and "has CD on computer". That's not the issue. OBVIOUSLY if it was just sitting around on his computer, he wouldn't be a pedophile. I NEVER implied anything of the sort. Just...read the statement again, and tell I'm wrong. This is the last time I'm going to reply to you. Take it up with the Straw Man you're so happily beating.

OK, fine. Cheap shot, I'll admit. I also put a fucking paragraph underneath it, did you bother to read through that?

Again, your analogy more aptly fits my opinion if you talk about mentally unstable kids copying jackass or watching violet movies.

You're wrong.

I don't care if he had thoughts of doing it for real or not, you cannot punish someone for their thoughts. That's thought policing.

Yep, did you bother to read through this;

OK then...My definition of a pedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to children.
You've never been in a situation where you checked out a chick, and then at second glance, questioned if she might not even be 18? Does that make you a pedo?

Well, by law, 17 = a child. Is that where you wanna draw your line in the sand?

~and if you did find out she was a minor - are you the type that would attempt to be revulsed by your prior attraction in order to convince yourself that you're not sick?

Which kids are mentally unstable? The ones who act or the ones who think?
