I currently have a Sony Ericsson w890i, but am looking to upgrading to an Android touchscreen phone (although knowing my procrastinatary abilities, it will run on Gingerbread or later version by the time I get round to buying it)

What do you want to get when you upgrade?
Whatever cellphone one of my sisters or mother leave behind when they decide to get a new one.

I've never ever actually bought a cellphone of my own throughout my entire life, simply because I've never really had to, due to the fact that someone else in the family always upgrade to a newer one and I can just steal the old one.

I seriously don't get the hysteria about getting the "newest" cell phone, and I find he notion of watching movies and surfing the internet on one to be somewhat stupid.

I mean, the screen is pathetic in comparison to what I can get on a tv or computer screen. Watching movies or videoclips on a cell phone or iPod is the equivalent of prefering to watch a sticker on a wall instead of a large canvas painting.

I prefer the canvas painting every day of the week personally, and im not too impressed by the novelty factor of having a "technical gadget" which I have no real use or need of.

As long as I can call people and send text messages, and that the phone in question is a rugged piece of equipment that can take some serious punishment, along with good batterylife then I'll be happy with it.

To be honest, I'd like o have a rather "low-tech" cellphone with the durability of military grade hand radios. You know, something that you could use to beat another human being to death with and still have it working afterwards. :p

I have an LG Dare as well. I think it's decent, but not having a clock when it isn't connected to the network hurts my opinion of it.

Currently sportin' a Morotola Droid. I consider getting a newer phone whenever my contract ends every 2 years. I don't always do though. Many times I'm still perfectly happy with my current one and wait until something amazing comes out the re-up with a new contract to get the price down.

An older version on this:

I usually text, and call people occasionally, and it does that. Also doesn't overheat, crack, drop calls or loose signal mid conversation.

the old nokiea with snake and that fucking best phone ever
I have a friend who is a big fan of the Nokias. Especially the old ones. He made fun of the iPhone when he saw the features and said Nokia had them on phones 5 years ago.

I've got a Nokia E63 and I'm thinking about moving on to a HTC Desire, or the HTC Wildfire when it comes out. I get to play with all the great phones with my work.

I will however say anyone who has an iPhone is an idiot. They're a stupidly useless phone and incredibly restricted.

I have an iPhone 3GS. Apart from some stupid things it does, such as the web browser randomly deciding to lock up or disconnecting from my wireless router at home for no apparent reason, I like it. I like the phone design, I like the screen layout, I like the on-screen keyboard and I like a number of the apps. Essentially, I like everything about my current phone. So if I were to upgrade it'd be for an iPhone 4, simply because it's pretty much the exact same thing, but faster and more powerful.

From the iPhone 4(lol), to the Droid 2(coming out this month)
If you say "from and to", you're supposed to give examples of polar fucking opposites, in this case, the latest in mobile technology, and some low-end piece of equipment that can only call people, maybe even send SMSs.

He did. He went "from" the iPhone "to" the Droid 2. I'd call that a massive upgrade.

OT: HTC Evo 4G. It's flat awesome in almost every way.

I use the now ancient Nokia 5070.

Hardly a top of the line phone. However, considering I only really need it for calling, it's good enough. Plus, it has good battery life (but then again, the fact that I don't use it a lot probably contributes to this).

EDIT: However, I will probably have to replace it soon, beacuse not all the buttons are responding properly anymore (which makes writing SMS messages a real pain).

The top five things I don't give a fuck about (certain entries will change, but mobiles will always be on the list!)

1) Lichtenstein
2) Horse racing
3) Mobile phones
4) Religion
5) Those triangular wafer things that people stick in ice-cream cones.

Right now, I have an old Nokia of some kind. It's from back in at least 2005-ish. lol

When it finally breaks, and I have to buy something new, I guess I'd like something like one of those Droids. They're tiny as hell, but my best friend has an extra one, and he's gonna give one to me for free whenever I actually remember to ask for it.

I have a Samsung O2 phone, been using it for nearly 2 years now. I only use it for calls and texts, but it also contains my music collection, and games to play for those long bus journeys home from University on Friday afternoons.
