I swear they have been working on this mod for like 8 years or something. Good to know it's finally finished. Maybe it's time for another Kotor 2 playthrough...

Will they ever release a digital version of this game for sale? It's hard to find a copy down here, and I'd like to play it.
no idea how it works for brazil, but amazon (us, maybe north america even?) has it for 20 bucks here:

snipping small spoilers here .
but the option is still there to have your character be whoever, in both games. why is it such a problem that the writers picked one that they thought was canon? it doesn't line up with your "canon", but that doesn't make either or any more/less preferable.

I haven't played the ME3 extended cut.
Neither have I but it sounds similar enough.

But it's more that events and characters from KOTOR have been "canonised" as a certain way

so Revan's always going to be a guy and apparently someone you kill in the old republic

not very dignified end is it?
Oh yeah that...
That was a stupid move and I really don't care what Bioware says, it doesn't count, and since in my continuity Revan was a woman[small](Which is odd since the little I played of KOTOR1 I played as a guy, but whatever that's what Revan was in my continuity)[/small], then she is still a woman as far as I'm concerned and what happened in my KOTORII file is what happens, I'm not going to let myself be bugged by some idiot that decided that my favourite Star Wars game doesn't count, because he is obviously an idiot, not to mention I probably will never play TOR so I probably will never even see that.

3 years? This entire idea has been 7 years in the waiting. Team-Gizka started the original attempt to restor the content back in 2005. The project was only picked up by the current group after the Team closed shop in 2010.

Do your research please.

Then I probably shouldn't tell you that "The Exile" (the main character in KoTOR 2) is canonically female, her name being Meetra Surik, and Revan being male was also established in the same novel, titled "Revan". If you're a star wars fan, and a fan of Drew Karpyshyn's writing/games, read it.

wow they finally did it.....

not sure Id want to play KOTOR...what with everything I do feeling pointless in the end

yes..even moreso than that other game
If you play a male revan who is light side in KoTOR 1, and Female Lightside in KoTOR2, you're following Star Wars cannon.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a Team Gizka that was working on the exact same thing? And weren't they C&Ded into the ground by Obsidian just after completing their patch?

That's the rumors I've heard, at least.

OT: If I can find my compy copy of KotOR II, I'll give it a shot, sure.

That's great!

Only trouble is, this game fell of the face of the Earth.

I can't find it anywhere!

Oh, wait, I should have looked more carefully.

Awkward....

Anyway, can I download it from Amazon or do I have to purchase a hard copy.

I don't think this computer ever even had a disk in it before...

Oh no! My story it's been ruined!
All joking aside I'm going to keep an eye out for the book, but if KOTOR1 or ME1 are any indication, it's probably not going to be up my alley.

I would definitely list kotor 1 as one of the greatest games ever made. Sadly Kotor 2 disappointed which was such a letdown considering peragus was one of the best intro levels of any game.

There were so many WTF story moments and then that whole ridiculous ending that made no sense whatsoever.

Hopefully this mod will make the game make some sense.

Hang on, is this related to the Team Gizka Restoration Mod? I followed that thing for sooooo long.

Anyway, this is great. I liked KOTOR 2, and this just makes it even better.
Nope. From what I gathered these people got tired of Team Gizka taking so long, so they started their own restoration project.

With blackjack, and hookers.
In fact, forget the restoration project and blackjack! Eh, screw the whole thing.

OT: I was confused when I read that title a minute ago, because my first thought was "Hasn't this restoration mod been out for a while?" but then I entered the thread and read that it's finally the final version, which is pretty cool.

Kotor 1 was such a great game. I thought the gameplay of Kotor 2 was improved, but everything else was a major disappointment. So I only replay the first one and the second one doesn?t exist for me.

Are there any mods out there that improve the graphics of the first one?

Not 'restored', restored implies that it once existed int he game and was removed. They 'finished' content that was never included. Also, if they really had that much crap sitting unused in their files then they did a really, really bad job coding because stuff like that should have been cut and removed and never released with the final product. Cutting unused content is the quickest thing you can do to increase efficiency, one of your major goals.

I believe this calls for the obligatory "GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!"

Awesomesauce. Played through when it was 1.6, will be great to see what else was added. And fixed, for that matter. Hopefully they fixed the bug where sometimes conversations would bug out and speed right through in under a second. That was a fun one.

Now, to download, and play. Again. And again. And a few more times, just for good measure.

I really love this game, is what I'm saying. Best piece of Star Wars media. That I've experienced, at least. Granted it kind of helped that the story is more or less "Planescape Torment Star Wars Edition", but eh, I'll let it slide since it actually made Star Wars interesting and more than "good vs. evil. Again."

And of course the game is more or less considered non-canon by Lucasarts, which we see in full in The Old Republic. Because god forbid Star Wars has a story and characters that makes you think about the universe in new and interesting ways.

Why yes, I am rather bitter.
Wait, I thought KOTOR II was still canon, as much as the 1st one.

Yeah, I'm sure it is, since that Revan novel ties the two games CANONICAL story endings together, kind of like a fine Persian rug in an apartment.

Well, I think it's time for yet ANOTHER playthrough. Seriously, I've already beaten it like 4 times. But still, it's nice to have some good news for a change.

Holy shit, they actually FINISHED one of these restored content mods? I don't want to complain or anything but, damn that took a while. It just goes to show how much stuff obsidian were forced to cut due to rushing. And there was also something about some of those projects falling through or something like that, I can't remember exactly.

In any case its good to see one of them finally reach fruition.

Steam has it available for download.
