2 weeks won't change the world, and you PC gamers will all be happy when you can gloat about your superior version (because it will be). If it's delayed 2 weeks because they want to combat douchy cheapstakes i would suggest they take longer to make sure they have done it right.

In conclusion, you getting better version, you wait 2 weeks.
Well, in theory. Perhaps during the last Console generation that would've been true, but DLC and patches are par-for-the-course for ALL platforms these days, so the point is moot.

Not to mention that IF and countless other developers have been giving big sloppy tounge-baths to Console developers of late. I get the horrible feeling that not long from now, Consoles will recieve most of the attention of added content/bug fixes, while PCs get the dregs. It was the opposite a year ago, but now it's just about equal (unless you get a game that's otensibly designed for PC gaming - Valve, for example), and there's no sign of Consoles slowing down in developer popularity.

To quote bungie
It's a fucking game
Pretty sure that Bungie quote wasn't about when games are coming out, and it defiantly wasn't about PC release dates being later. It's being used quite out of context.

Also is that quote going to be thrown around for every argument that people takes their hobby seriously now? If you going to quote that at least quote it because someone is stupid enough to argue how plasmids wouldn't work in Bioshock or something, at least then it's in context.
Look at the words. I don't care if it came from bungie or not.

Games are for escapism and immersion. NOT to get pissed off at when they are pushed back. I'm a FF nutter and yet when XIII was repeatedly pushed back did I make a thread? OH NOES my favorite game is delayed !!!11!one
No. I didn't bother the IGN boards with that. Nor did I bother the FF boards. I just went back to playing a top quality RPG and made a mental note to go check what the new supposed release date was.

People that get pissed off at a game because it's delayed just piss me off. Getting pissed off after it's released is fine because you have played it and obviously have found something wrong with it that you don't like. But getting pissed at the game that's just been delayed by a couple of weeks isn't something to be pissed about
Ahem, look at the words, I don't care what pisses you off.

All I mentioned was that you used a quote out of context.

Thanks for backing me up, Naturalized! It sure was big of you to transcend context and agree with me.

Mostly this, and hell, even i have a Gaming PC, and i want to play on my xbox and ps3 still.
Play on each one equally because face it, not every single game in existance will be on PC.

As someone else said: suck it up. I'm used to this kinda shit being pulled on PC games, so I'm really not bothered. It gives me more time to upgrade my ailing PC anyway :D

We've waited 2 years for this game, I think us big grown up PC gamers can wait another 2 weeks, yes?

Well PC gamers usually get the short end of the stick when it comes to release dates and funnily the excuses have almost always been "we are trying improve the physics engine". So if it is true it won't surprise me.

Of course it has context... You could use the statement again as it fits but if you quoted it it's being used out of context. Just annoyed how many times I have read that quote since it was said, and most of the time had nothing to do with what the dude was talking about.

OT: I don't think I was going to get this at release anyway mostly because of the bumped up price which I haven't seen a decent reason for. Not overly happy with Activision, I used to love Call of Duty aswell but it's hard to get excited when I don't think they are going to support the game for very long.

Oh fuck this. *begins asking for banhammer*

and i thought the escapist was good
No sense of humor? I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, but rather to make the point that in the absence of context, a statement can be used to justify something that is clearly irrelevant to its original intention. (In this case, that would be my ludicrous assertion that your quote implied disagreement with itself.)

But, thanks for reporting me.

I've been geting some reports (from some pretty reputable websites), that the PC version of Infinity Ward's new Shooter, Serious Sam V: Let's Get Silly, has been delayed indefinitely...

Haha, but seriously, According to some sources, the release date for Modern Warfare 2 has been delayed 2 weeks, to november 24th.

If this is true, this PISSES ME OFF, I'm a PC gamer, which means that I have to pretty much avoid all the gaming blogs/forums if I don't want my game spoiled by loud mouthed console gamers (who are still apparently get it on the 11th).
Suck it up and just be glad it's two weeks and not two years.
Yeah, right, Suck it up you dirty PC gamer.

Just be glad you get the games, because you don't deserve them :|
The hell? Get over yourself bud. Yeah, the extra wait is unfair, but acting like a jerk isn't gonna make the time go any faster.

Let me scream out loud in immense agony and anguish: RAAAAAARGH!!!!

And if my classmates tell me how awsome and lovely it is and tease me about, then they will have a closed casket at the ugly cemetary.

Well. On the bright side, you're not console gamer [to clarify, I am. And I don't like it]. Let that be a consolation [har har].

Goddamnit! I'm sorry but that really ruined my morning, it makes me glad I pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 over that first. Now I'll have to sit through two-weeks of my console playing friends telling me how awesome the game is and I just have to sit and drool longingly into the distance. GWARRRR!

Yeah, and screw you too buddy. Ok, not really but I'm confused as to where all this hate for PC gamers comes from, I mean if the console version was delayed there would be panic in the streets, but if a lowly pc gamer complains they just get told to STFu and be glad they're getting the game at all. Isn't every console game really just a port of a Pc game? (since that's where they're designed I mean)although I guess the coding or whatnot is different.
All the hate for PC gamers comes from PC elitists
Well, just because PCs are better than consoles in every way, shape, or form...

One of the main reasons I don't like this forum: there aren't nearly enough of my Master Race brethren.
The only thing I prefer about PC's to consoles is the mouse and mods

Fine with me, I wasn't going to buy it until it went down in price to the cost of other PC games anyway. There are plenty of other games I'll be happily playing that don't try to extract a 20% price increase from me.

I could buy it on the Xbox, but if I'm going to play a FPS like that I might has well get it on the PC. I'll probably get more enjoyment from it on that platform anyways.

(Screw you console 'tards...nah, joking. You know I love you all!)

So its been delayed by 2 weeks, its not that bad.

Sure, it sucks, but look on the bright side, now you can have more time playing Dragon Age and Left 4 Dead 2.

This is normal. Assassin's Creed 2 is another game that springs to mind that has been delayed purely for the PC.

The 'official' tagline is that the extra time is needed to 'ensure a smooth, satisfying and polished gaming experience' (or something along those lines) but the actual reason is to ensure that layers of CD protection and verification software are included to stave off piracy.

It's a great time to be a PC gamer! :(

You're close, but not quite. It's not to include copy protection (which doesn't take much time and is likely included in the development time already), but rather because the said protection does close to nothing. Holding back the PC version means that multiplatform users are more likely to default to the console version instead of just pirating the PC version. PC copy protection is basically there to dely the cracking process by a few days to get a few would-be pirates to buy the game and to prevent casual piracy.

But yes, it is indeed a great time to be a PC gamer! Between the crappy console ports, great games being console exclusive (Brutal Legend, I'm looking at you) and delayed releases, it's truly awesome... [/sarcasm]
