Goddamnit! I'm sorry but that really ruined my morning, it makes me glad I pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 over that first. Now I'll have to sit through two-weeks of my console playing friends telling me how awesome the game is and I just have to sit and drool longingly into the distance. GWARRRR!

Yeah, and screw you too buddy. Ok, not really but I'm confused as to where all this hate for PC gamers comes from, I mean if the console version was delayed there would be panic in the streets, but if a lowly pc gamer complains they just get told to STFu and be glad they're getting the game at all. Isn't every console game really just a port of a Pc game? (since that's where they're designed I mean)although I guess the coding or whatnot is different.
All the hate for PC gamers comes from PC elitists
Well, just because PCs are better than consoles in every way, shape, or form...

One of the main reasons I don't like this forum: there aren't nearly enough of my Master Race brethren.
The only thing I prefer about PC's to consoles is the mouse and mods
What about:

-PC game controllers (Xbox, PS3, Wii, all of them work)
-PC DirectX 10 (DX11 if you're 1337 like me and already have legit Win7) HD Graphics
-Anti-aliasing
-Free indie games, whenever
-Easy simultaneous music playback with all audio formats
-No discs needed, install and play (don't even say DRM, it can easily be cracked if you own the game)
-Bittorrent
-Usenet
-mIRC
-LAN gaming, no multiple discs needed
-Better online gaming (Xbox Live does not count, as it doesn't have CSS)
-World of Warcraft (if you're twelve or jobless)
-The ability to belong to a Master Race which makes all others inferior.
-The right to post about your belonging to the Master Race on internet forums.

This is normal. Assassin's Creed 2 is another game that springs to mind that has been delayed purely for the PC.

The 'official' tagline is that the extra time is needed to 'ensure a smooth, satisfying and polished gaming experience' (or something along those lines) but the actual reason is to ensure that layers of CD protection and verification software are included to stave off piracy.

It's a great time to be a PC gamer! :(

I'm not here to start a flame war but why do PC players ***** because yur games get delayed I mean don't you guys get DLC for free? So what if you have too wait for your Game for 2 weeks Youll get your MP1 for free and we concel gamers will have to pay 10 dollars

So its been delayed by 2 weeks, its not that bad.

Sure, it sucks, but look on the bright side, now you can have more time playing Dragon Age and Left 4 Dead 2.
In theory, yes.

If I didn't live in Goddamn Australia. L4D2 banned. Dragon age without a release dat (as far as I know)...

*shrug* Get a console then? A second hand 360 should run for pretty cheap, and you'll get a load of good games that, let's face it, aren't designed for PCs.
Are you trying to get me angry? Considering that consoles owe their very heritage to PCs aside, the vast majority bar driving and perhaps sports titles work far, far superior on a mouse and keyboard setup than a controller. Couple this with sharper graphics and more often than not additional (and free!) features (Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Resident Evil 5) included for PC versions makes your entire argument void.

Not designed for PCs...pah! They're designed on the damn things!

I am a PC gamer and I think its stupid it got delayed but I can live with it. At least I know Valve still loves us, look at TF2. No matter how hard they try to get updates to the Xbox they have to verified and tested and for months/years. They can't release all the content for TF2 updates because they can't fit it on an Xbox without a hard drive.

Proper mod support will always be PC gamings best component, the Call of Duties don't have that many well made mods. Look at Fallout 3 or Unreal Tournament, the good versions. PC gaming maybe more expensive, but is worth the cost of admission to me, you pay more up front, but you can do much more then its console brethren, like use a mouse and keyboard... You can have better graphics, higher frame rates, free online play, more indie games, Steam.

I am annoyed by what is happening to PC ports of games though, they are much more shoddy and unoptimized then their older counter parts. There are those that are done incredibly well, like GRID, but many are just done poorly and feel lacking with PC controls. Like the obscene amounts of mouse acceleration in Bioshock that can't be turned off or those rootkits that are so called DRM that you need to have to even play. Sure with a console you have the benefit of just tray and play. You also get a convenience that you know anything you buy will always run the same for everyone.

However, I still would never trade my PC for a console. PC gaming is different then on a console, when you build your own machine and get to use it for a period of time it stops being a piece of hardware and becomes something more. With a console you have just that a console. With a PC its like a living thing, it can do anything you want it to if you put in the time and effort. I spent more time tweaking my system and trying to squeeze out that last bit of performance from an overclocked processor then playing a lot of games. PC gaming is two hobbies you get, one being a gamer and the other being a technology enthusiast. Not everyone has the same experience, but there is a great feeling when you get together with other PC gamers at a LAN that is completely different then at a console LAN. It takes more effort but you get more out of your work as a result.

Consoles and PC's both have there upsides and downsides. Some people like having a 10 foot platform, while others like theirs desktop. People need to just accept that their are different types of people. I play console games with my friends when they are over, I don't have the same type of experience its a lot more mellow. When I play a LAN with them on PC its different. We have a different mindset and while it is less mellow it is much more satisfying for everyone involved. There is a place and player for both types of systems. I wish the hate that both groups have toward one another would just stop. Fanboyism isn't useful, it just leads to fights. There will always be the PC elitism, but its been around as long as consoles have existed.

Yeah, right, Suck it up you dirty PC gamer.
I was badly misunderstood; I'm a hardcore PC gamer, and trust me, I don't hate PC gaming or PC gamers. In fact, I tend to deeply dislike consoles and most games that run on them.
All I meant with my comment is that two weeks doesn't seem like a long time to wait, especially considering that they won't be two weeks in which you'll stop playing. I could understand raising an eyebrow and, perhaps, expending a small amount of profanity allowance; however, getting all "PISSED OFF!!!" seems a rather severe over-reaction to me.
In my opinion the world of PC gaming is one of the easiest to be patient in, simply because there's so very much to tide you over from one great game to the next. In fact, it's happened to me on several occasions that one of the tide-overs took me in so much it overshadowed the game I was waiting for...
The other part of my comment refers to the fact that we PC gamers are getting increasingly used to wait longer and longer; two weeks looks like nothing compared to some other delays we've had to endure (*ahem*GTA*ahem*).
