Thats hilarious. I think we've all learned a good lesson: Don't piss Capcom off or they'll ban you, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, and any future descendants until 12/12/9999.

Do they really have to say "modded data"...some mods are good! Why not just be blunt and say "you tool, you cheated"?
Calling your customers "fucking cheating toolbags" is bad for business.
Unless you're a dominatrix, I guess.
Well, so is banning them.
Banning one cheater keeps X players who aren't cheating happy. X is almost always going to be greater than one, so keeping more players happy and thus playing your game is better than having one extra cheater playing who may cause others to quit.

Think about MMOs. The recent Unholy Rage banhammer which CCP unleashed upon EVE slapped something like 6,000 accounts. EVE isn't a monolithic giant like World of Warcraft and those 6,000 accounts (assuming they were paying accounts) likely hurt their intake. However, taking a strong standpoint against cheaters and 'gold' sellers/bots in game is generally good for business in the long term, even if not in the short.

they had to get Chuck Norris to use his personal ban-sledgehammer-chainsaw-machete-lazer-protoncannon cause thats the only thing that could cause a ban like that

Anyone else think this gives new meaning to the Japanese system of Respecting Ancestors? This guy's great (To the power of about twenty) grandkids are gonna really be mad at him.

They were far to lenient, dude should of gotten a 10,000 year ban. And, it should applie to all his descendants too.

In all seriousness though, it was probably a glitch, if he complained they might change it it to a month long ban, or whatever is deemed appropriate for what he did. Who knows, maybe they'll be as understanding as the mods here?

I like the fact it says "The next time you violate the terms of use, you will never again be able to connect."

That made me laugh.
Same here. That line got a lol out of me.

Microsoft already did this to the guy who got access to the Halo 3 Epsilon build.

EDIT: Even longer, actually.
Source?

Also, we'd better come up with a new term for this. This is much more serious than a banhammor.

A banrape? A banlolcaust?, etc.

But yes it's kinda funny to see the game which is the reason I bought a wii, haveing a ban like this. It makes me feel glad that there won't be cheaters, but at the same time I'm scared that I'll be branded at a cheated for doing nothing and getting my 9999 ban handed to me.
