Get the PC version instead. If you can't, tell us every detail of your character. Race, birthsign, major and minor skills, inventory, guild memberships. It wil be much easier to help this way. Read this [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind_for_Oblivion_Players] as well. Good luck!
I can't get the pc version, but I just went for a warrior on my first playthrough.
Redguard
Pre-set Warrior class
I have a silver longsword and full heavy armor
I've only joined the Imperial Legion and am at the 4th mission.
Okay, I've got some serious advice for you.
In the Imperial Legion, NEVER EVER ask the Knight of the Imperial Dragon about duels until you've asked him about everything else and he's the only one who can advance you further in rank.
Got some tips for you. One, enchant your silver longsword for Bound Longsword on strike for anywhere between 30 and 45 seconds. You will now have an awesome weapon that you will almost never need to recharge or repair. You could play using only it throughout the whole game and never need to recharge or repair it, and pwn all. And it's really strong.
Secondly, the Dren Plantation is an excellent source of wealth early on in the game. And because they're all drug smugglers you don't have to feel any guilt for killing any of them. In the suspended hut, the guy has a daedric dai-katana. Kill him, take everything in there. Search around the buildings, decide who you want to kill and who you don't. Keep in mind this is difficult, but very rewarding. No one here is crucial to the main storyline, except for Orvas Dren, so don't kill him yet.
Lastly, in the mountains near Suran you will find an Orc in Orcish armor. He wants you to kill him because he's killed everything and he's all emo and bored with life. He's got wicked armor and a badass unique legendary sword.
Also, do you have Game of the Year Edition? If you don't, get it. It's inexpensive and comes with both of the Morrowind expansion packs.
EDIT: Another excellent source of wealth is Assurnabitashpi or something along those lines. It's a Daedric ruin east of Khuul and near the Ushrilaku Ashlander camp. Also near there in a cavern is another Daedric ruin. Come VERY prepared. Prepared for anything. Get looting on the Daedric ruins, and you'll come out a very wealthy man.
