The most brainless in my opinion are the Halo Marines. They drive like old people with blindfolds on.
Why yes, they do have the tendency to leave you to die, considering that you can't be revived in single player. Please don't quote Yahtzee on the things he was outright wrong on.Vrex360 said:For me this would have to go to the otherwise excellent Gears of War 2 in both campain and multiplayer. First off in campain as Yahtzee already mentioned the friendly AI has a frustrating habit to leave you to die. And in multiplayer death matches when you are the only human player and the rest are bots (don't have live at the moment) there is nothing worse than dying and having to watch your AI team struggle to fight while unable to even figure out where the enemy are.
What is the dumbest AI you ever encountered and how did it effect you as a gamer?
Don't even get me started on that. Oh god but that's frustrating.Eagle Est1986 said:Call of Duty: World at War. Seriously, the AI in Gears 2 is glorious compared to the idiots in World at War.
I've seen Nazi soldiers run past three of my allies, not more than a foot away from them, to get to me. The fact that the Nazi soldier ignored them bugged me enough but the fact that my team didn't even flinch at his presence killed me inside.
This wasn't a one off either, I've seen it happen on multiple occasions, right before I had to turn it off, for fear of breaking my TV.
Dude, the AI couldn't drive at all in CE. That was one of the big features in Halo 2.The Shade said:I thought the marines in Halo: CE were worse than those in Halo 3. At least in Halo 3 you can be the gunner and the driver AI will do okay. In CE they usually just drove into a wall or wedged themselves into some rocks and then sat there doing nothing.
Yes, actually they do seem to jump around abit in that sense, i do recall matches where i've destroyed the opposing team (360 > 35), then there are matches where no matter how much effort you pile in you just can't break them enough to gain ground, those matches arent total landsides, but yeh i have felt kinda helpless (180< 360).Hunde Des Krieg said:Skill in bot matches for the AI seems to switch sides occasionally too, have you noticed anything like that?pha kin su pah said:Play Annex, with bots, they seem to jump in intelligence then, have even picked up some of my cheap tricks, friendly AI can be frustrating at times. Playing something like warzone, will force the AI to drop its standards because it has nothing to measure against but itself.Vrex360 said:For me this would have to go to the otherwise excellent Gears of War 2 in both campain and multiplayer. L4D bots are amazing in some aspects and the worst in others, but i'd rather have 1 bot + 3 man team, than a full Human party.
The A.I. in World at War was awful. What's weird is that they used the CoD4 engine, but in CoD4 the A.I. was better.Antiparticle said:This, as they say. It's kind of surreal to be fighting in a big war only to see the enemy soldiers walk right past your squadmates, neither side shooting the other ("hey" "'sup"), just to attack you. The Hell? It's one of the reasons why I think CoD5 singleplayer is thoroughly disappointing. (Fortunately the fun multiplayer makes up for a lot.)Eagle Est1986 said:Call of Duty: World at War. Maybe he meant the marine AI driving Ghosts and just worded it on an not ungood worsely way.orannis62 said:Dude, the AI couldn't drive at all in CE.
