Most Depressing song?

What, no Mountain Goats? For shame

Awesome song, but it revels in the destruction too much to be depressing. If the thread was called "Most Ironically Hopeful Song" this would win hands down.

Thats my pick. I broke down earlier today when that played, though thats more for personal reasons.

That's odd, I find Everybody Hurts to be uplifting. But then again you stated personal reasons, and I don't blame you, it is a bit melancholy. Some songs set me off, like Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (also personal reasons).

And even though both versions of Hurt are depressing, I think that Johnny Cash's version is more so. Just my opinion, though.

the song 'Daisy' by Brand New makes me incredibly down, I really relate to it so I guess it's unavoidable.

it's an incredible song and I love it but if I'm in a good mood I simply don't listen to it to avoid being brought down.

this, but the original by nine inch nails is still a bit better in my opinion.

there are 2 songs by IAMX that can make me really depressed called 'this will make you love again' and 'i am terrified'.

'my dying bride - the cry of mankind' always does the job. since the death of peter steele a lot of type o negative songs make me tear up, mostly 'love you to death' and 'white slavery'.
