This summer I have been having a strange anime craze(not a big fan), and just got finished watching two shows. The first was Yuyu Hakusho, and just now I got finished watching Full Metal Alchemist.

One thing that struck me. The endings were extremely disappointing. On both shows they rushed the endings, and on FMA they stuck all the closures of all the characters in the last 8 minutes.

So what was your most disappointing show ending. (doesn't have to be anime)

i gotta agree on FMA (also just watched all of it this summer) and the ending was like...WHAT...how...how do you just end it like that... if you wanna watch something good tho. watch Gurren Laggen. its on hulu for free...just some shitty comercials. its amasing, only 27 epsodes long and dubs in English are amazing.

24.

That ending wasn't the best. Cliffhanger to the extreme.

Fable 2. What a fantastic boss fight and closure that was.
Indeed. The tension building as I finally managed to kill the lost boss was extreme, and the totally not rushed following sequences was among the best things I have played.

Did you watch FMA or FMA: Brotherhood? If you are talking about the original FMA, then I completely agree, the ending was terrible and the movie that came after was just as dumb. FMA: Brotherhood, on the other hand, was fucking awesome.

I also watched Gurren Lagen this summer and I was disappointed. I loved the first half of the series with all it's goofy robots an stuff, then the went forward in time and the tone of the series completely changed and it just didn't work for me.

I hated Puzzle Agent's ending myself, and Borderlands wasn't good at all.

Series 5 of Doctor Who. It just didn't feel like a finale, and the way it was resolved seemed like a cop out.

I have a PS2 game that probably no one has heard of called Malice.

The ending is that you defeat the final boss and the heroine says 'Well, what an adventure' Or something, and then it ends.

Nothing compares to that.

Exactly. (Spoilerish) What about the love tension between Ed and the Mechanic girl? Or all the other sub plot lines they left hanging.
And how about that whole "We are on the other side of the gate" thing they crammed into the second to last episode?

I am pretty sure I just watched the original Full metal Alchemist. My knowledge of anime ends wherever Adult Swim leaves it. Is the FMA: Brotherhood a sequel series or the comicbook manga?

Wait for Brotherhood to finish or read the manga. It works out in the end. Trust me. MUCH BETTER ENDING.

As an explanation, when Hughes dies the anime and manga split. The anime was produced faster than the manga so it had to make up it own plot as it went on. It followed the same loose points (and I do mean loose), but it wasn't following the manga anymore. The manga went in a different direction than the anime, following the same loose points, but in a more definite direction. It works out wonderfully. Also Chinese/Japanese looking people kick ass. Just a heads up.

I am told that the manga is better and the new FMA is much better but still... after a awesome story like that.

no one get s the girl (seems to be a problem in most anime)
how the fucking hell is he here and they are there how does his arm work or leg work how will he fix it if needed i mean comon that was not a cliff hanger that was mental rape, i love imagining alternate endings myself but only to continue where the ending left off but that ending was just wham bam thank you mam to your brain...

It's sort of complicated. The original FMA followed the manga but, because it is faster to make the anime than the manga (I have no idea why this is), the anime eventually caught up with the manga, so the producers of the anime decided to let the it branch of into a completely different storyline.

Now, with FMA: Brotherhood, they were able follow the manga all the way through to the conclusion. The result is that, for the first 1/3 of both shows, they are almost exactly the same but then branch off into separate directions with the original FMA deciding to go with the "nonsensical convoluted mess" approach and with Brotherhood deciding to take the opposite rout.

I have to admit though, I appreciate them making the effort to not make the same mistake as Naruto by doing 60+ episodes of useless filler.

Edit:

The manga is MUCH better. Brotherhood(the new anime adaption that follows the manga) is (mostly) the same up until the Dublith arc, but then it differentiates wildly from the first anime adaption (in a good way, obviously), oh and no silly wrath kid!

Though if you want more of the first adaption there's a movie called Conquerors of Shambala :p

I thought the finale of Heroes in both series 1 and series 2 (the latter partially justified due to the writers' strike) were disappointing. The first was way too cliche and the second was clearly rushed.

Also by no fault of its own Red Dwarf. Having ended on a hilarious cliffhanger, the show got cancelled. Which is always unfortunate.

[small][sub]But now there's a new series coming so maybe we will find out what happened in typical hilarious fashion![/sub][/small]
