This summer I have been having a strange anime craze(not a big fan), and just got finished watching two shows. The first was Yuyu Hakusho, and just now I got finished watching Full Metal Alchemist.

One thing that struck me. The endings were extremely disappointing. On both shows they rushed the endings, and on FMA they stuck all the closures of all the characters in the last 8 minutes.

So what was your most disappointing show ending. (doesn't have to be anime)
It's not a show, but i'll say FEAR 2 ending is the weirdest, craziest and most disappointing ending i encountered in my life.
I knew we were Alma's son since the beginning. Once i pick that Soldier report about Becket, i knew it. That and your dead teammate that said to you her children was stolen from her. But at the end, you fought a crazy... (can't recall his name). Then, you see Alma, who is dead btw, pregnant. She pick up your(Becket) hand, you fight her a bit but she put it on her newly pregnant stomach. So, in retrospect. I inseminate my own dead mother? And you are still tied up in a sphere by the end. WHAT THE HELL?

It's sort of complicated. The original FMA followed the manga but, because it is faster to make the anime than the manga (I have no idea why this is), the anime eventually caught up with the manga, so the producers of the anime decided to let the it branch of into a completely different storyline.

Now, with FMA: Brotherhood, they were able follow the manga all the way through to the conclusion. The result is that, for the first 1/3 of both shows, they are almost exactly the same but then branch off into separate directions with the original FMA deciding to go with the "nonsensical convoluted mess" approach and with Brotherhood deciding to take the opposite rout.

I have to admit though, I appreciate them making the effort to not make the same mistake as Naruto by doing 60+ episodes of useless filler.
I hate not knowing any of this. I would have probably just watched Brotherhood instead.

If Sophia dies, then you die as well. So Elanor smothers Sophia with a pillow (SHOWS HOW GREAT OF A MOTHER SHE TURNED OUT TO BE EH) then I woke up strapped to a table, whereupon a little sister shanked me and I became the little sister. What the fuck? Then I ended up killing some guy who led me along and was pretty much my only friend in the game besides Sofia. Then we got in a boat or something that was starting to flood but wait that shouldn't matter right we don't breathe. Then I somehow got to the surface and then I didn't really get what was happening, pretty much a WHOLE LOT OF NOTHING! Bioshock 1 had one of the best endings ever.
Before broken steel
General Autumn, AKA the big bad southerner, shot me with his PEW PEW PEW. Then I cut his face up with my Ripper as though his face was a pizza. Now suddenly this purifier has to be turned on HEY WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE isn't the purifier supposed to CLEAN radiation from the water? Why is it suddenly radio active? Fucking epic plot hole.

Evangelion comes to mind, I didn't like the whole psychological bits at the end at all.
Especially sense I really liked the rest of the anime.

I rather liked the boss fight, I'd hate...

...having to run around, dodging attacks from some old fart for 10 minutes, fearing for my virtual life. I preferred his ass served to me on a silver platter.

Knights of the Old Republic II.

Krei: "A-ha! You might kill me, you might not, but here is what happens to your comerades in ten seconds. Now go! GO! You must end your epic adventure just narrowly escaping an exploding planet!"

Your father flooded it with Radiation to prevent the Enclave tainting it. Pay attention next time.

He didn't he's just stuck in space for a while.

It's been said before but i'll say it agian: Fallout 3 pre-broken steel.
Go into this irradiated chamber and sacrifice himself. Or I can send this guy that's immune to radiation and get the smae results without me or him dying.

The point of (look at spolier box) was because you were supposed to be presented as the "hero of the land"
Quit complaining and get Broken Steel.

Not exactly a show, but the ending to Law Abiding Citizen was just disappointing. It would have worked if they cut the movie off 2/3 minutes earlier.

Star Wars KOTOR 2 easily has one of the most nonsensical and anti-climactic endings ever; a shame considering the original was one of the best games I've ever played. Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 both had stupid endings. God of War 2 also comes to mind. Also Elfen Lied (the anime not the manga) had a pretty anti-climactic ending as well.

I don't know, I found it an interesting attempt to do something different. I mean how many games end with a boss fight of some kind?

On topic:
Fable two, the save everyone ending, but loose your dog/family. What do they give you? A statue, "err thats great don't I have like six of these already?"
"but this one is free"
"No it cost me my dog and family. You know what? I'm going to spend two hours more on this game just slaughtering you lot, then I'm going to delete this save and do things the correct way."

KOTOR 2 was disappointing though
