Avatar, it was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too predictable, I thought that there was some kind of brilliant story line behind it but instead it was just pocahontas, with blue cat people instead of "native americans".

Wolverine Origins because they completely mucked up Gambit's character. Anyone else remember the 90's version (back when Wolverine wore a yellow costume.) when Gambit was cool? That and the ending seemed a bit rushed.
Avatar too... it was all hyped up, but was average in my opinion. Amazing graphics, don't get me wrong, was quite good in 3D but... we didn't click very well. Shame as it looked good in the trailers.
You should have seen me ...spent the entire part of the movie since they met Gambit till the end going "WHYYYYY". Yes I was a Gambit fan, he was a wise-cracking jackass, but he was a cool wise-cracking jackass, in the movie he seemed like he was an idiot.

Also Avatar was a boring cliche with nice CGI, but that's what they were aiming for at least.

Edit: Also he was trying to bone Rogue. I sympathise with his cause.

Inception. It wasn't THAT bad, but after all the hype and the fact that it's at #8 spot on IMDb I expected a movie that God himself would make. Not to mention the fact that it copied Matrix (IMO). You know, "What is real, Neo?" and stuff.

Most disaponinting movie: Aliens. From what I had heard about it, it was the pinnacle of the Alien movies and one of the best sci-fi/horror films ever made. What I saw: One of the worst action movies I had ever seen, full of 1 Dimensional characters doing uber-macho space marine stuff. The aliens were still cool, though there loss of invincibility made a bit bland. A few memorable lines, some damn good special effects, and Bishop saved it from being a complete disaster.

Most deceptive movies: Alien 3 and Inception.

Alien 3: What the masses thought, "Worst movie ever, ruined franchies, killed Hicks and Newet, roar."
My thoughts: The best alien movie of the bunch. Fleshed out characters, moving story, alien made scary again, even more love for David Fincher.

Inception: What the masses thought: "Great movies, excellent action scenes, very deep and comlpex."
What my older brother thought: "Oh my god, that movie sucked!"
My thoughts: "Pretty meh movie, good action and special effects but not much more. Interesting idea and that scene in the basement of chemist could be a premise for a much better movie. Also, why the hell do they keep talking about trains?"
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
OT: The Matrix Revolutions. Matrix was awesome, Reloaded was alright...how could they go so wrong? There's now rumours of a Matrix 4 AND 5! WHY!?!?!
Serenity. Only because you realised as soon as it ended that there would be no more Firefly. That thought was horribly depressing.

Inglorious Basterds: like someone said, it led you to believe it was some great action WW2 kinda flick. It wasn't, at all. It was boring, I don't give a damn what anyone says. Huge let down.

Cloverfield: An hour and a half of shaky camera and "ROB!!!! ROB!!! ROB!!!" and pretty much never seeing the damn monster. Skyline was better, and that was pretty crappy. It at least got interesting right at the end...GREAT TIME TO FINALLY GET INTERESTING! -.-

Avatar: Visual beautiful, nothing else.

Inception: Of my list, the only one I really liked, but to me it was still a let down and sort of boring.

Dragon Wars: Bad...just...bad.

Serenity: Never even heard of Firefly till well after this movie was out, so maybe that's why. The previews showed a decent amount of action and the girl kicking some ass. I honestly don't remember that happening in the movie...at all. And no, don't tell me to go watch Firefly. Isn't going to happen.

Jet Li's Hero: Another movie I expected more/better action thanks to the preview, instead I get a boring movie with little GOOD action.

Deceptive, I'm gonna go with Toy Story 3. I loved the first two toy story films so was so hyped when they said they were doing a third. Then after how everyone was describing it and having a soft spot for pixar films I went to see this and.... I dont know I wouldnt call it bad, it held my attention but it was just, resoundingly average and I certainly didnt get the emotional impact that friends and critics seemed too. All in all it seemed to me a retread of issues covered in th e second film in a new setting and the same story of "we must get back to andy" for the third time. I guess I went in expecting too much.

Dissapointing I'm gonna say District 9, from trailers and word of mouth it seemed to be great. What I got was the most boring time in a cinema I've had in years filled with a cast of characters which were I swear the biggest jerks I've seen in cinema in a long time. Lord knows what point or message the director was trying to make because I cared so little when the film was just so tedious and unengaging.

Deceptive:The Expendables

Every trailer showed that scene with Stallone,Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis leading people to believe they were the 3 main stars.Turns out that scene is about 1 min long and that's the sum total of Arnie and Bruce's involvement
