And the bear bugs from Demon's Souls. They don't attack you often, but they're gigantic, you can't move past them and it literally took me 10 minutes to kill one and when they die, they explode and that explosion will kill you.
I'll also nominate the Red Eyed Knights in 1-3.
They're relatively simple to take down, mainly because all (save for maybe 3 or 4 of them) possess swords, as opposed to the life-ending spears.

But there's no denying the look of utter contempt that appears on somebody's face when you learn that you have to fight 3 of the fuckers to continue.
Rage ensues.
Yeah, I died about 4 or 5 times trying to kill those 3 with the spears.
I made it past via sheer luck.

The last of the bunch would have continued mauling me if it wasn't for the Meat Cleaver and it's almighty knockdown power.
I used a bit of strategy. I'd run up and down the stairs in a circle constantly with my shield up and eventually, one would attempt to attack me and while they recovered from their attack, I could hit them with whatever sword I used (I think I just had the Dragon Sword +4 or something)

I also waited for my magic to replenish and used the Soul Arrow as much as possible.

Good, so I'm not the only one who lured them.

Thief's ring + Soul Ray = One at a time.

I had goofed on the last, though. Bringing Soul Ray is also a double-edged sword, because if it hits another, you're fucked.

There's way too many to name, but most recently it was Gracious and Glorious from Bayonetta.

Counter, man! Counter counter!! But I agree. Before I knew the powers of the all-mighty Moon of Mahaa Kalaa (spelling?) they were quite cumbersome.

Oh definitely, once you unlock the items they're a breeze, but beforehand (or if you make the mistake of spending all of your money on health/magic upgrades instead) they're a pain.

And the Bats? The goddamned bats!! (in general gaming)
yes those enemies are the most frustrating enemies of all time speacially on castlevania because you jump back if you get hit you,so everytime you are near a pit you die and bats in general gaming sucks, because they are millions of them in every game

The most annoying for me are the gorgons from the God of War series. They're easy to handle if you're fighting just one, but if you're paired with one or two gorgons and maybe some harpies or sentries, then it's gonna become a pain in the ass because while your frozen from the gorgon stares, an enemy can take one slash at you and kill you instantly!

If we are just talking regular mobs, morboros or w/e from ff series, one breath and u need to have every kind of de-disease, magic, sleep, etc in your inventory.

Boss wise, prolly the Cerberus from Devil May Cry 3, the first time u face him... I am not afraid to say I died A LOT to that guy... also the twins in the same game... can't forget about them.

Satyrs from God of war 3, took me forever to get pass the part, were you have to fight two of them and a Cerberus at the same time. It took even longer on titan mode and I nearly got to the point were I was about to give up. But I got them in the end.

Also the final boss from Tekken 5. (forgot his name)

Most of moves couldn't be blocked or dodged, plus he had this energy ball move that took a ridiculous amount of health from you.

In any fast paced game, having an enemy with armor or something that you need to chip away.

Like loads of enemies in the 3D Sonic games.

Well as for me its has to be one of the agents you fight in the subway station in The Matrix Path of Neo. The agent never seems to die and is practically invincible and you also have to keep kicking him around till you eventually kick him in the direction of a passing train.

those tiny Rachni from ME1. They don't last long, but God are they hard to hit. It doesn't help that they move like they're on crack.

The last enemy in Singleplayer Unreal Tournament (the FIRST from 1999). Map was this space ship sort of thing. He was so strong, god, you cant imagine.

Heard of this Psycho Mantis guy, he knew what you were about to do on the ps2 because he could read you controller (or something, dont know for sure). Only thing I know is, that the only way to beat him is to change your controller from first to second channel. Anyone knows more about Psycho Mantis?

The last enemy of unreal tournament (the very first from 1999). Extremely hard to win against, trust me!

And I heard about someone named Psycho Mantis, which is a boss in some game I dont remember. Tricky part about him is that he knows the moves you are going to do because he reads your controller channel (or something, somebody who understands this please explain further). Was impossible to beat with your PS2 controller on the first channel of the PS2.

Anything that stuns or knocks characters arse to the floor. Mindflayers in BG2 are kinda nasty if you are unprepared.
