Most helpful tip from a loading screen?

I think its Baldurs Gate II. "Remember your characters don't need to eat but you do" or something like that

The best was an early one that told me of the existance of quick save, not sure what game though.

Yup there was. I think they had to do that for 'legal reasons' since no one is allowed to even think of smoking in North America (or at least in Canada) without the fear of some kind of fine.
